Hi @Miska, strangely if I set Client to PCM my filter list appears identical to yours but if I set it to DSD, closed form-M disappears and closed -form-16M appears instead, as below. In both instances, there are a total of 3 closed-form options whereas manual lists 4. Perhaps it is as you intended, just wanted to check.

Hi @Miska, I note manual contains a filter Closed-form-M but in my HQ Player desktop drop down list of filters that is not present, just three of the four manual-listed closed form filters appear. An omission?

Hi @Miska. In a recent comment about tube DAC's and amps you suggested setting DAC DSD filter at 60K. My DAC is Matrix Sabre-Pro, ESS 9038 based with 4 filter options of 47, 50, 60 & 70, and my amp. is a tube amp (single ended) by McChanson. I use HQP desktop converting mostly 16 or 24 bit FLAC to DSD256. Wondering if your recommendation to set DSD filter to 60K is applicable to my use case as well, and if so what the rationale is. Thank you!

Thank you @Miska. Do you have a link to version that fixed that bug?

  6. Hi, @David.. Qobuz, Hi-Res Music Evangelist, @David Craff. I noticed that the QoBuz app. no longer allows for downloading of booklet pdf's, although they are "view only". IAs a sublime user, I had really appreciated being able to download Booklet pdf's for offline reading (I am travelling internationally tomorrow, 11 hour flight) to learn what to add to my purchase list, and occasionally to add in a booklet to something I previously downloaded. eg - from another source, that was missing one. This is not a particularly customer friendly change, rather it is a ":take away" decreasing customer use scenarios and flexibility. Please consider reverting to the prior functionality: ability to download booklet pdf's from the QoBuz app., at least for those of us with paid membership accounts. Thanks.

There are may instances when there is no empty space depending on metadata displayed. When there is empty space, it supports a clean look. To quote Debussy: "Music is the space between the notes". And so with the visual arts, filling every space / clutter is not necessarily an enhancement.

Respectfully, I don't think any of us can claim to represent what the 'average person' wants. This is already a unique group, audiophiles seeking advancements in playback of their music, and unlikely for them to all agree on software design choices. Speaking for myself, I welcome the continued expansion of filter and shaper / modulator choices and would NOT want to see any deleted. I do agree with @bogi it would be ideal to have ability to hide or show which filters / modulators are shown in the list so only favorites could appear, as selectable by user. But only @Miska can assess the difficulty / feasibility of this. 😀

Window resizing bug fixed, very much appreciated. I did update NVidia driver as well, will evaluate if CUDA offload remains a bit different than 5.5x. Most importantly, THANK YOU @Miska!

I am experiencing the exact same behavior with Desktop 5.6 running Sinc-MG, with slower load times and higher RAM utilization (prev. 25%, now 41%) and much less CUDA offload than occurred with prior version. However, using poly-sinc-gauss-long all parameters are similar to prior version, and with poly-soinc-gauss-xl similar too except higher overall GPU use, more spikes. Overall, I like the client enhancements except restriction of re-sizing, but the increased RAM utilization / slower start of playback and lessened GPU offload with Sinc-MG are not necessarily an advance, while conversely poly-sinc-gauss-xl seems to result in higher GPU usage than before, paradoxically. Will look forward to next update. I am sure there is always some element of trial and error involved, and as always I appreciate Jussi's constant quest for improvement of this already peerless software for us music lovers. 😀

Yes please, as well as ability to manually resize by dragging corners of the window.

One quirk with HQP Desktop 5.6, however, is that I can't seem to maximize window size in client to full screen. It seems to be "stuck" in a specific window size and dragging window handles or selecting the full screen in upper right do not enlarge it! Please address when your time permits.

Jussi thanks for 5.6. The enhancements to client are very welcomed!

Yes, Miska you read my mind as that is actually exactly what I do and it works a charm. If the OP wants to PM me I will show an example

Also bear in mind that tracks can be queued for playback by drag and drop. I have many multi-CD albums. I select the tracks from all CD's in Windows File Explorer, drag / drop them into main HQ Player server and they are ready to play in proper sequence. Album art and tags display perfectly, and playback is easily controlled in client. This is a simple alternative to using library management that I prefer. YMMV of course.
