Hi all, I have a silent PC running an older version of Audio Optimizer and I'm looking to upgrade. The system sounds beautiful but as always just looking for the next upgrade. As I'm not a super computer geek I'm a bit reluctant to play (change) the current setup, can I just get another small SSD and load a new setup and swap drives? Or should I look at just better software to run from my laptop? Or is the Audio Optimizer upgrade and easy install process? I don't have the original window server files as I brought the machine already set up. Would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

Hi all, just thinking about giving this convolution a try with my JRiver setup. Created some filters in DRC and tried to follow there instructions but my JRiver doesn't have the VST plug in. Can't find anywhere to download this .dll file. But here's another question, are there better options or convolution programs that work better than others? Do convolution files end up sounding better an simple eq filters in JRiver? Appreciate your thoughts, as I said newbie at this side of things... Cheers Dave

Hi all, I'm about to push the button to upgrade my system, currently running Windows Server 2012, JRiver 22 and AO. Just a bit nervous as I'm not a computer guru, I brought my system complete but I sort of know my way around.... Probably going to get another SSD so I can revert back to my original if I f**k it up. I've been reading notes on upgrading but I just want to check if there are still some helpful people around if I get stuck? Also not sure about the Server 2019 upgrade, do we need to purchase the full version, gets a bit expensive for home use..... Appreciate your assistance. Dave

Hi all, Simple question, can I import new music from USB when optimizer is set to maximum quantity, eg stripped down windows. Or do I have to reset it to basic level first? I have JRiver MC, pretty sure it's running windows server 2012. Thanks Dave

So just to confirm what I'm doing. In core mode I just minimize JR, type AO in the dos screen and change the profile. So do I have to type "S" for it to restart? Don't recall being given that option so do I need to type that once the profile is changed and I get returned to the base dos screen? What profile do you like??? Thanks

Thanks dtb300, had a laugh when I read your reply. When Phil exist the program. So we can switch between modes quickly, I thought I'd have to go through complete setup every time I wanted to try another setting. Cheers

Hi Phil, just tried a different sound profile. I run AO in core mode so I minimised JRiver to get the dos window then entered AO, went to advanced and changed the profile ( trying your preference) then the dos prompt went back to the starting point but the header of the dos screen got stuck on "finishing". Gave up waiting after about 10mins so I restarted the PC, haven't had chance to listen yet but even though got stuck on finishing do you think the profile has updated ok? Thanks

Hi all Been using Audio Optimizer in core mode for a while, last night I had to return it to GUI mode so I could load some more sounds. Trouble is that when I returned it to core mode it wouldn't play, just cam up with the error message saying there was a playback problem. The DAC driver was still showing in JRiver, just wouldn't play. Returned to GUI mode and it worked as it should.... How do I fix this? Also, not sure if I've lost any quality with GUI mode, is there usually much improvement with core mode? (I do have a very good system so thats not the weak point) Might just leave it in GUI mode so I can use my phone to drive it.... Cheers

Hi, Running Windows server 2012 R2. Update.... got into the Service Tools screen and got the change mode option and thought I'd try minimalist server mode as I thought it would be a good compromise between having good sq and the convenience of wifi so I can us a remote. Went through its process and then tried to reboot, says there's an issue and won't load windows. Looks like a rebuild is needed! No way will it load ... Anyway learning.... even if it's painful! Cheers

Just found I should be able to type ST into the dos screen to return to the Service Tools screen will try tonight. So is wifi not available in core mode? What about in minimum server mode? Sound SQ between the modes, is there much difference? Thanks

Hi all I'm new to Audio Optimizer so please forgive me if my questions are a bit lame... My system was working well including wifi when I had it in GUI mode then I put it into core mode but I now can't connect via wifi. I checked the instructions and found you need to activate the wifi own option but still nothing. Surely I'd need to put my Sid and password in somewhere ? After finding the wifi didn't work I tried to return it to GUI mode but can't get to the mode change screen. I have the DOS prompt sreen and typed in AO, that brough up the Optimiser screen, ran the first option to Optimize but then it went back to the OS screen not the Optimizer screen which would have given me the option to change modes. Maybe I need to do a complete reset? ST -R? Appreciate your assistance sorting this out. I'm sure more questions will be coming your way!!!! Thanks in advance. Dave
