1. Feliz Cumpleaños! , I always keep an eye on this site for some great info, and I think there will be more great years to come
2. Would you be using the headphone system for the PS3 too? if this is the case, the variables and possibilities open up. And it all depends on what headphone amp you get. If you are using your PS3 with headphones, you would most surely need a headphone amp with multiple inputs. If you get a headphone amp with a DAC and coaxial and optical inputs, you could connect the optical out from your PS3 to the amp, and the coaxial out from your SB3 to your amp. And then use the analog input from the 9.1 with your analog outputs from your PS3. If you get a headphone amp with only multiple analog inputs, connect the analog out from the SB3 and the analog out from your PS3 to your amp. PS. I'm not sure about the audio outputs of the PS3.
3. Not sure about the difference between normalization and leveling... ... but since your Cowon D2 doesn't recognize replaygain, and you don't want compression (leaving mp3gain out too), I think that leaves the option of only altering the your main files (that I suspect are FLAC files... ). For this you can use foobar2000, for which there are two kinds of normalization/leveling : Album gain and Track gain. Just be careful of altering the copies and not the originals. Try to experiment with some files first, and compare them to the originals. This way you can decide for yourself while you listen if it met your expectations.
4. Most probably the WAV file is not the problem. What OS and Music Software are you using to play your CD and your WAV file? , this would help identify what could be wrong.
5. Last.fm is great, I've been using it since more than 2 years, and is a very fun way that integrates technology and the Internet to enjoy the music more.
6. I'll be very interested in knowing the results with openSUSE 11. What software are you going to use on openSUSE for playback? , one of the most popular in the Linux world is Amarok.
7. Great comparision darrenwm, I guess you are liking the Apple aproach better eh?
8. I use Linux and Windows XP, I've been actually interested in the USB DAC thingy, but I have not come across a lot of information regarding USB DAC and Linux... almost always with Mac or Windows. ggking7, what USB DAC are you using?, I'm interested in reading about USB DAC compatible with Linux.
9. Yeah, I love those Pearl Jam live albums, they sound very good in relation to the live act.
10. Excelent!, All they need now is do a West Coast tour . Last tour they did release FLAC downloads too right?, I listened to the mp3 downloads... did the FLAC ones sounded better?
11. Great to see Linux threads , I'm interested in Linux audio solutions too, right now I use a Squeezebox, so I only use Linux as the Media Server, not audio playback.
12. Replaygain doesn't degrates quality, since in only puts some values as tags inside the audio file, it doesn't change the music data in any way. I have a Squeezebox and I apply replaygain to all my music, many times it serves it's purpose well (keeping a constant volume), but there are other times where it's just way off (too loud or too soft), making the music listening time a bit less pleasant. So it doesn't degrade sound, but it won't be perfect either. Depending on the situation, I enable it (when the music is in the background), or disable it (when I want to sit down and enjoy the music... I want to control the sound volume)
13. Downloaded from Mexico with no problems... it seems the digital store is the thing not available outside the U.S.A.
14. I'm a little confused about the Duet Power Center... what are the differences between the 4 AC plugs and the "IsoZones"... or maybe I'm just overly-confused.

15. Do they include some kind of booklet inside?

Have fun!
