  1. I am now running 3.6 and my current favorite configuration is through an RPI 3 USB to Singxer and then IIS to Gustard X20 to my tube based front end. I normally upsample to 384K PCM however I do like DSD. Natively DSD 256 works however no upsampling to DSD that I can tell?
  2. I am currently using a Gustard X20U DAC with an RPI 3 running MoOde 2.6 with no issues other than I can only play up to DSD 128 over USB and would like to play DSD 256. I just ordered an I2S to HDMI Output module (audio-gd) hoping this will solve my problem. Has anyone tried the I2S to HDMI output module and able to play DSD 256 on RPI using MoOde or other player?
  3. The Conductor 2+ does look interesting Burson Audio – Conductor V2+ Not sure the V5 opamp will sound much better than the V4 but it does have a smaller footprint. I will probably hold on a year or two more to upgrade and hang on to the MH 25.3 modded DAC (V5 Opamps, Telefunken NOS 6922, Venom 3 power cable, Gustard U12 external USB, AES/EBU or spdif to the front end system). The digital world is changing and things will only get better.
  4. I have the Burson V5 SS opamps in the MH 25.3. The sound detail has greatly improved on both the RCA and balanced outputs. The soundstage is slightly bigger imaging has improved. Bass is tighter. Overall I think it is a great improvement. Some day I may upgrade to a DSD DAC however I still don't see muck rock music in the DSD downloads arena.
