  1. I'll admit I haven't gone down that avenue. I mean the new board has twice the RAM and a 2-core Pentium G4600 with hyper-threading as against a nine year old core2duo on the older board. I know I could be wrong, but I'm thinking the old board would be more likely to show under run problems, and it hasn't.
  2. Interesting. And possible for this reason. I connect my coax cable (a good one) to the SPDIF header via a necessarily delicate frontx adapter. That adapter could have gone bad. Thanks for the suggestion.
  3. I just got an H270 board with an ALC1220 codec on it. I'm experiencing random half second sound drops of digital sound -- no hiss, no crackling, just silence for that half second. The analog is fine. I have switched the identical external audio equipment including cabling back and forth between my new board and my old G41 board. The old board has no problems. Both boards are being run under identical operating systems. Has anyone experienced this problem? Has anyone got any idea what might be causing it? I'm trying to decide whether to chance RMA-ing it and have it returned "reconditioned" or just do without my DAC.
