  1. Cyrus Hello,

You posted that you use the Triode wire Obsession PC on your terminator dac.  I also use this pc.  Did the cord you trialed out perform the Obsession?  Can you disclose the PC you trialed and what were the improvements over the Obsession PC?

    Thanks

  2. @Ivanaudio Congratulations on your Terminator. 192 kHz is the max for all inputs (PCM). Dual AES/EBU is so that you can have separate Right/Left Channel Inputs, however each is also capped at 192 kHz.
  3. I'm trialling a new power cord to the Terminator. I currently use Triode Wire Labs' Obsession pc. The results are surprisingly positive and beneficial. I'll post a short write-up once I'm done with the evaluation. Sharing to let Terminator owners know that power cable swaps might be well worth looking into.
  4. I've been testing the new firmware for a number of weeks. I've experienced distortion / noise issues with native PCM playback. I do not utilize DSD or upsampling. This goes away after changing the track. Alvin has been looking into it and has been super supportive. I reached out to Sonore a number of weeks ago to connect them with Denafrips and Sonore has sent Alvin a unit for testing. My issues may be Sonore - Denafrips related. I need to reflash the firmware and adjust MQA settings per Alvin's direction. I'll report back based on what I experience.
  5. My 'review' of the New DSP Board is now live. https://dsp-board-denafrips.blogspot.com/ Please note: USB In (only) and NOS. Post here, or message me, if you have any questions from the write-up / review.
  6. @Superdad Thank you. Now I need to choose between power supplies. I will reach out to you directly.
  7. If you haven't already, take a look at the review by Aron Garrecht of SoundStageUltra. Might help with your choice.
  8. Given the reviewer's stated preferences as well as his history of audio components/systems (evident in the review as well as his bio, etc.) I'm unsure of how much value I would put in his findings (and comparisons) of a modern 'all-in-one' digital component. My comfort level (for example) would be much higher had this been a vintage SET amp review for an analog based system.
  9. Superdad: I had previously eliminated the JS-2 due to my SGC i7 sonicTransporter's 19V requirement. For Reconfirmation.... the JS-2 can power the i7 Kaby Lake unit (and it's future replacement) safely and adequately (for both the JS-2 and the sonicTransporter)? Thanks.
  10. CK, can you share more... Comparisons with other power supplies, what made you choose the Clones Audio unit, etc.? Thanks.
  11. @miguelito I've been working with USB for such a long time that I've been (am) 'captive' from a legacy perspective. Other input approaches are on the table, depending on whether I stay with Denafrips or go with another DAC. Denafrips has advised I2S as a preferred input. This has it's own upstream implications (for me). : )
  12. Thanks for you post. I'm solely running Tidal and Qobuz via Roon, without DSP. I'm also solely using the NOS mode on the Denafrips. I know that I need to 'play' with the software (within Roon) as well as move to HQPlayer (or equivalent) and evaluate. My reason for holding back has to do with developing my system (with a primary focus on the major components) first and achieving the synergies I am looking for, BEFORE 'optimizing' via software (i.e. as a late stage step). Is this incorrect, both in terms of process and WHEN I should be 'applying' the software solutions/approaches?
