With Ryzen 3, they say you'd use 3733 Mhz max speed.

I use the app xiialife and bubbleupnp om my android phone/tablets to stream radiostations to hqplayer and then to my adi-2 dac (dsd or pcm possible) . You can also save playlist radiostations in bubbleupnp.

Can i ask, do you run HQP on windows or linux? I am running embedded. I wonder whether I can change core affinity and disable core pinning under linux easily?

I understand from Yviena that he can upsample from 44.1 / 192khz PCM to DSD256 using ASDM7EC with his 3700x.

@Yviena, you can also upsample from redbook to ASDM7EC DSD256 EXT2 with your 3700X?

I am not the expert but I wonder whether the 3700x could boost to 4.5 ghz all core? Looking at Silicon Lottery only 21% of their binned 3700x's could reach 4.15 ghz all core ( if i interpret SL right). https://siliconlottery.com/pages/statistics 3700x results are at the bottom of their page.

The new ryzen CPUs are interesting for HQ-'players'. It seems the new Ryzen CPU's (3900x 3700x) do a better job in a number of benchmarks but especially not in certain games. In this test by techspot they come up with an explanation, that it is about dram latency and multi thread latency. My question is, how important is that for HQplayer ? https://www.techspot.com/article/1876-4ghz-ryzen-3rd-gen-vs-core-i9/ An issue with this benchmark is that they forced clockspeed at 4 Ghz, where the boost clock of the 9900k is higher.....than the Ryzen....

Is there a practical guide for how to do room correction with REW/USB-mic --> HQP-convolution ?
  9. Is anyone planning to buy and test ryzen 3700x with HQPlayer in a short term?
  10. I stopped using linear power supplies (LPS) on my first pc-streamer (AS rock J1900-itx with daphile). I tried A/B with a switching supply and I could not hear any difference in SQ using the RME Adi-2 dac. Next, I built a second more powerful streamer (with HQP) with the Seasonic prime titanium fanless 600W. That is enough power for a big CPU and a graphics card. https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/25149-design-a-pcserver-for-roon-and-hq-player/?do=findComment&comment=919942
  11. Notre dame in Paris is on fire now, partly collapsed already. I wonder about the damage to the famous Cavaille-Coll organ. Here is a recent recording from 2019. The toccata and fuge in d minor is really great.
  12. Diy chassis is cool anyway! Congrats and happy listening. Picture of the front is missing? Where did you get the heat pipes and copper plate?

There is also a thread on best cpu for hqplayer. I think that most users of hqp use an intel cpu. I can't rephrase Miska's exact explanation made somewhere before, but intel is more efficient per clock cycle. Anyway, amd cpu's have more cach memory which should also be beneficial for SQ. Choice may also depend on the max tdp that your chassis can cool. I chose an amd ryzen 1600 (65 w tdp) with a asus rog strix x470 gaming-f. Waiting for the new amd 3000 series at 7nm.
