Actually in my setup using the Brooklyn's internal SMPS when you turn up the volume without any music playing some kind of white noise is audible. With the external linear PSU you can't hear anything.

I use a Qualiaphysic PSU with my Brooklyn. It simply gets the Brooklyn's sound quality to a different level. It gets more organic, with lower noise, better detail and focus. Couldn't be happier really.

Oddly enough, highresaudio is still selling MQA downloads. Go figure.

Knowing that MQA is just 1% of highresaudio's revenues and Tidal Masters gives access to an increasing MQA library, I wonder how much of this recent scepticism stems from business considerations rather than technical ones.

A few ideas: They require quite good amplification; Not easy to place in a room; Do not excel in terms of impact or low frequencies reproduction (adding a couple of very good subs makes a lot of sense); Difficult to see how a competitor could make a better quasi-ribbon product at a lower price; And finally...Who cares about Stereophile's rankings?

To my ears it sounds on par with DXD (probably a little better). So you're right, it's perceptually lossless.

You're making a good point. But in the case of the files I've compared I'm pretty much certain that the mastering is the same. I used for comparison several recent editions of classical music that AFAIK have only one published mastering version. And I really wanted to compare a local file solution vs a cloud solution.
