  1. I want nothing I want nothing I want no quid pro quo! (The Ramones version in MQA is glorious... like a veil has been lifted)
  2. Nice! Thank you... ... still waiting on their US launch ... I know I could do the VPN signup routine, ugh ... maybe I’ll do it. I would definitely pick up a couple of the Avishai Cohen albums, and Last Leaf by the Danish String Quartet. A question about Sublime+ pricing... are the purchase discounts only on hi res, or are there discounts on redbook versions as well? BTW, @Musicophile I love your blog. I’ve purchased a number of albums based on your reviews.
  3. While you are doing research, please take a look at the Lyngdorf TDAI-3400. I have the 2170... I was very skeptical about DSP room correction, but I had to admit it sounded great - really great. I had never been able to integrate subs, but it was easy with Room Perfect. I was fortunate to get a good deal on one, and right now I wouldn’t swap it out for anything except the 3400, because it will be Roon Ready (soon?), and it never hurts to have more power. In any case, good luck!
  4. I read that this new model will be a Roon Ready endpoint. I own a TDAI 2170, hope that Lyngdorf make an Ethernet streaming module available. Good luck with the 3400!
  5. Thanks, guys... must be a problem on my end, I will try it with another computer. cheers!
  6. Thank you for this! Unfortunately I can only find a “Purchase CD” link on the page... I am located in the USA, I wonder if that matters. ?
  7. Looks fantastic, and great job on the stand for the Kii Control... But this raises a question -- if I understand how the Kii Control works, wouldn't it be more useful if the Kii Control were two components? I'm thinking one near your components and the speakers, and another (hopefully) wireless controller with the source switching and volume control? This would allow you to control volume at your listening position...
  8. Thank you again! The new model Transparent Zero is an upgrade in some ways, and a downgrade in others... They are $360, but had an introductory price of $300... of course, by the time I read about them, they were out of stock and availability is TBD.
  9. Hi wgscott, I realize that you originally posted this blog entry back in June 2013, but I found it very helpful - thank you! I am looking at these for use in a bedroom, using them with two digital sources: TV via the optical, and USB via a Nanopi Neo running DietPi/Roon Bridge. After reading your review, I took a look at Amazon... there is a review that warns about using two digital sources... specifically that the USB port won't release without unplugging. Have you seen this? The auto-sensing ability is pretty important to me ... first world problems and all. I would like to set the volume on the Vanatoo speakers once, then control the volume from TV or via Roon... do you think these would be a good match, or should I wait for the Transparent Zero to come back in stock, because of the remote control? In any case, thanks again! Cheers...
  10. Here's a link to the NAS installation info from the Roon Labs knowledge base: https://kb.roonlabs.com/Roon_Server_on_NAS And, the community forum for NAS installs: https://community.roonlabs.com/c/roon/qnap-synology The people there are very helpful.. good luck!
  11. Take a look at a mini-mixer like this one (Just Mixer fromMaker Heart) ... available in blue, pink, and orange. It's USB powered... Plug in the audio from both PCs into the inputs, choose whatever headset you like and plug it into the output... This is not the only brand, but it would seem to fit your needs... good luck!
  12. Not chopped liver, more like a fine audiophile pâté... P.S. Thank you for all of your contributions, from a long time lurker...
  13. Massdrop is going to drop a "limited edition" red version of the AKG K7XX, starting tomorrow morning (Valentine's Day). They should be the same price as the version in all black ($199.99) I have a pair and they are an excellent value for the money. For much less $$$, look into the Sony MDR-7506. I use these without worrying (too much) about losing or breaking them. Wirecutter review here: click Good luck!
