Schiit Yggdrasil - Best DAC available!?
Tuco1965 replied to PewterTA's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
That isn't even related to what is being discussed here. Re Schiit glitch. -
Schiit Audio, Headphone amps and DACs made in USA.

I love my Bifrost Multibit. My music library is 99% 16 Bit 44.1k material. I have absolutely no desire to obtain anything in DSD.

Well said! I agree with this.

Keep up the great work Jim!

I find no difference between inputs on my Bifrost Multibit. With that being said, your source's ability to feed those inputs will be the limiting factor.

I've had years of great service and response from Schiit. They are great to deal with.

Yes Schiit multibits are all about getting the most from Redbook material. -
Schiit Bifrost Multibit Upsampling Experiences?
Tuco1965 replied to Joebah's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
The big thing here is that with the 2 non oversampled rates you are not getting the benefit of filter. The magic of the Schiit dacs is the filter. With the Bimby you can upsample Redbook to the non oversamped rate to compare that with the filter. To me there is quite a difference in sound between the two. The filter gives the most natural sound to me. YMMV Only Bimby is 24/192 max -
I upgraded an 8.1 machine and all went well. JRiver MC21 plays fine with W10 on my system. Overall I prefer it to my old OS. Sonically I can't tell if it's better or not. I always use WASAPI with my Bifrost Multibit.

Atomic Rooster is a worthy addition to any library.
