  1. You may not hear this from anyone else but I own an m51 and they have issues which the company denies. First, the class A analog output can slowly increase in aggressiveness and become very annoying and overbearing....the solution is a nad reboot...that works for a while and then the problem re-occurs. Another bit of weirdness is as follows: Using the M51 to compare cables by connecting one piece of gear by two different types of connection (ex. hdmi vs coax) for the purpose of comparison has the following results. When initially switching between coax connection and hdmi connection a cable difference can be heard...on subsequent attempts to switch between them absolutely no difference can be heard..and I have verified the switching by removing the unused cable..it somehow seems to homogenize the two cables into one sound on either input....resulting in a better sound than either of the cables alone!....this is extremely weird and others have witnessed both of these issues. I have spoken to NAD about the class a analog problem and they are in complete denial and really don't care. I am going to try the dc-1 with the hope of replacing the unstable temperamental M51. I dont believe my M51 is defective its just its character. If I sent it in for service they would most likely find no problem and I would be out shipping costs and the use of it for a period of time. I m hoping the DC-1 sounds as good as the NAD does when its right! Believe it or not...its up to you!
