  1. Hi Keith, my understanding is that it can al least partially. I found this from Uli himself in a replay from July, 8th 2011 in Acourate forum on Yahoo Groups: "no, the time alignment is not applicable to passive systems. The only chance for some alignment is to shift the speaker drivers if possible. But Acourate will also correct the time behaviour of passive speakers too." So the alignment procedure can not be used , that's normal but some correction is applied. My Friend got the same answer. Chris
  2. Hi Keith, I'm using Acourate and my system is fully active, 5 ways but I'm absolutely sure that Uli recommends Acourate for passive crossovers too. My pal did it with good results. You have to run the room correction macros as usual. I suggest you ask Uli ;)) or search the Yahoo Acourate group forum.
  3. Yes it is possible with Acourate..... I think it analyzes some frequency bands and calculates the delays but of course it will never be as efficient as having separate channels. Chris
  4. I use Motu 1248, 10 analogue channels are available, quite good dacs for the price. Used Aurora before but it had only 8 channels. Motu is more up to date in conectivity and software Chris
  5. I use JRiver media as a player and multichannel audio interface Motu 1248 connected with usb cable to a PC for my 5 way active system . Crossover and room correction done with filters built in Acourate. Chris
  6. Ok I confess I use Squeezebox (wired) ;-)). I don't know or can prove if this is the best solution to generate SPDIF signal for the DAC, but the interface and the commodity of installation are superior. The distance between PC and the SPDIF source become irrelevant. This is the strong point for "streamers". And as nobody seems to pretend that the SPDIF from the SB is audibly inferior to a Transporter for example (by a noticeable margin), the SB seems to be a very good performance/price value
