  1. Thanks again all. Having looked into all your suggestions and considering that probably 60-70% of the time I listen to my music through headphones, I think the Dragonfly is probably the best option for me at this time. [h=1]slàinte[/h]
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. Yes wgscott I can only use 3.5" analogue connection as the Denon does not have an optical in. I thing I am leaning toward some of Audio_RLFs suggestion, the NAD D3020 looks like a possibility. Would the best connection be optical or would I just have to experiment? The Dragonfly is interesting, however I still wonder if my amplifier would get the best out of it.
  3. Hi All First post, so be gentle.I've spend hours reading numerous post on here, and I'm getting more confused. I appreciate that everyone has there own requirements and ideas, however, although mine are relatively simple I can't find the best solution. I'm trying to decide what I need to add to my hardware to get the best results for my needs. I am only interested in listening to my CD quality digital files, mainly flac format. At present I am using a 2012 27in i7 iMac 12gb memory 3.4GHz processor connected by the headphone output to an old Denon UD M50 CD/Amp. This is feeding a pair of B&W DM601 speaker which are equally old, however in my opinion still very good. I'm using lriver media centre 21 and the sound quality is pretty good. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree but I think the iMacs DAC is good enough for my requirement, I think my areas for improvement is with the output from the Mac and the amplifier. What would you recommend for a cost effective upgrade that would make a worthwhile improvement Many thanks
