  1. Hi all, I'm having bad clicking/popping/pitch stability problems with my Allo USBridge Signature, Volumio, and the Denafrips Ares II DAC. I'm using Volumio version 2.878. I've tried Moode as well, and that was better but not perfect. The USBridge/Volumio setup works much better with my Schiit Bifrost DAC, so the issue has something to do with the combination of the USBridge and the Denafrips Ares II. I know the Ares II isn't defective - the USB input sounds perfect through other sources. I don't want to revert to an earlier version of Volumio as the newest version is the only one that supports Tidal Connect. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
  2. Has anyone gotten wifi to work using a dongle on the sMS-200? I attached a dongle with the required RTL8812AU chipset, and while it says I'm connected and shows an IP address, there's no sign that the sMS-200 is actually connected to the network (no access to Eunhasu control page, Roon won't see it). Eager to compare sound wired vs. wifi. Thanks!
  3. Do we know anything about the "optional wifi module" advertised as part of the feature set? This will be a key differentiator for a lot of people between SotM and Sonore.
  4. I just ordered the NuPrime DAC 9. If anyone wants to send me their Mytek Brooklyn to do a comparison I'm game
  5. All, I'd be very interested to hear any comparisons between the Mytek Brooklyn and the NuPrime DAC-9. They have basically the same functionality (+phono and MQA on the Mytek) at very different price points - and both get excellent informal reviews. I doubt many have heard both, but if someone has, I'd be interested to know. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, I assume no one has had a chance to compare the Brooklyn to the new Furutech/Alpha Design Labs Stratos? The functionality is very similar (minus MQA), and the price point is lower. I'd be very interested to hear about any differences in sound quality.
  7. Hi all, Question here on upgrade priorities. I'm loving the Aries Mini, which I use as both streamer and DAC. At first there was quite a bit of edginess to the DAC, as others have reported, but things have smoothed out somewhat over the last month. I'd like to do one of two upgrades: 1. Buy an HDPlex linear power supply for the Aries Mini, which would also feed my turntable and phono stage. 2. Replace the stock vacuum tubes in my integrated amplifier (Concident Dynamo), which many people say has a major effect. Thoughts on which of these to prioritize? My goal is to retain the incredible detail and speed I'm getting now while removing the last bit of edginess from the presentation. I don't want to do both upgrades right now. Thanks for your advice!
  8. Hi all, Can anyone tell me what the size the DC plug for the Brooklyn needs to be? I'm about to order an HDPlex LPS and I want to make sure I ask for the right size termination on the cable. Thanks!
  9. I just scanned the library for the first time, so I'm not sure what immediately rescanning it would accomplish. Here's an interesting data point: I did the initial library scan through the iPhone app, and could play anything because it said my library was "offline" despite showing all the tracks. When I move to the iPad, everything plays! There's no album art, but it's something. Progress!
  10. Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I believe I succeeded in creating a network shared drive on Mac OSX and linking it to the Lightning DS server, per this article. Lightning DS says it successfully scanned about 15,000 music files. But it isn't seeing the library correctly. When I click on any category (artist, albums, etc) it says "your music library is empty." When I click on "browse by folder," all the files appear to be there. But when I try to play a file, I get a pop up saying "music library is offline." Does anyone have advice for how to fix this? Thanks!
  11. Thanks, Baddog, that's good to know. So the question now becomes: $299 for the Auralic LPS or $420 for a great budget DAC (review here)? Any thoughts appreciated. No need for other source inputs, so it's just a question of sound quality.
  12. Thanks, Austinpop. I'm actually looking for dual voltage, because I move countries once every few years (quite a life...). If there's no such thing as a good dual-voltage linear power supply, I might just pick up a Musical Paradise MP-D1 DAC and be done with it. I'm not enthusiastic about a higher box count, but that option is cheaper than buying two LPSs and could result in better sound anyway. I love the Mini so far - the sound is open, detailed, and has a great sense of flow - but the top end edginess is irritating, and from what others have said I'm assuming the DAC is the culprit.
  13. Hi all, Can someone who's using Auralic's LPS tell me if it's dual voltage (I assume not)? Is anyone aware of a dual voltage linear power supply, or is that just not a thing? I love the Mini - and the new LDS iPhone application is a big step forward - but like some others I'm finding the internal DAC a little harsh. I'm hoping a linear power supply will fix that.
  14. All, I'm hoping the early Brooklyn owners can confirm a few details for me as I consider a purchase. Does the Brooklyn have any built-in streaming capacity, or do you have to have an outboard streamer (Auralic Aries or similar) to take advantage of Tidal or stream from a NAS? Also, is it AirPlay capable? I know AirPlay is limited to 16/44.1, but until MQA is up and running Airplay is a great option for streaming through remote control applications on iPad or iPhone. Thanks!
