  1. Set up: Mac Mini Mojave > Audirvana + > Sonore ultra Rendu > Mutec MC3 > mini DSP 4x10 > 4way amp > horns and OB bass. Assumptions: A+ is the best FabFilter pro eq 3 is fantastic Sonore Rendu is Great, not as transparent and accurate as Dante but more musical Problem: use A+ UPNP to Sonore and the FabFilter in the middle cannot be used real-time. Aim : to send A+ to network and Sonore without using A+ UPnP. So so how do I keep Fabfilter real-time working when networking A+ to Sonore. I have proved that FabFilter continues to work real-time if I network Audirvana with Dante. The issue then is that Dante only supports 48k and you lose all the lovely A+ sampling. So so how do I keep Fabfilter real-time working when networking A+ to Sonore AND keep higher res output... e.g. 24/192 or DSD conversion. Here is the reason Fabfilter is so important: Assume system has been balanced e.g. REW. set up a DAW, in this case Reaper. Play a file and measure unfiltered EQ in Fabfilter Pro Q (like an RTA) place a measurement mic in the room and bring it into the DAW and Fabfilter over the top of the source file. Auto analyse the difference ..... in the art the sound of the room. Note: I know all the arguments about not being able to eq a room. I have also spent months treating the room. This is a better than doing nothing else step. And I hate Dirac. repeat process enough times to see consistent results and average for a filter. Use the filter with dynamic eq in A+. Tweak to satisfaction while listening. Fabfilter and A+ Is a great combination. But A+ UPnP means you can’t use FAbfilter ‘live’. Albeit your filter is running in the background.
  2. Did not work for me...any other ideas? MacOS> A+ 3.2.15 > Sonore Ultra Rendu UPnP
  3. Thank you for taking time to offer advice. Chris had advised the MC 3 needs 350ma i have tried a powered USB bus. A series power monitor then the MC is pulling 250ma (suggests a problem). Because of the USB A connectors of the power monitor I can only place it at the Mac end before the cable and of course the monitor is self will have resistance (0.01 ohm specified). However the usb bus on the Mac can deliver 430ma according to DDM. Even so I have tried it on usb3 pushing more than 1a and it does not work. yesterday I got it to play, I left everything on overnight and this morning the MC3 is not in the Midi. I have reset it, nothing, reboot, nothing, different port, nothing, disable everything sucking bus power e.g. Bluetooth, nothing. So frustrating.
  4. Dear Community, I have been reading audio forums for years and should thank everyone for their contributions that have made my listening so good. out of need and desperation I have shown to write my first post. Maybe it will help other users. January I bought a Mutec 3+ USB from Thomann. In my view this device is ice is one of the best I have ever put in the chain and lived up to all the reviews and opinions. Problem is that it is hardly working. I have a Mac mini late 2012 with 10.13 on it as the main digital listening source. The Mutec is sometimes seen by the Midi service most often not. So I have tried a lot of fault finding: Two other macs USB 2 vs 3 USB c Cables Power Different OS (Mojave vs Sierra) boot sequence factory resets For some reason the Mutec disappears of the midi and will not come back with any certainty. Then after all the methodical switching it will just pop up if I move the USB to a machine or port that did not work minutes before. I had a long dialogue with Chris at Mutec (CEO) and they could not help. This device sounds so great I do not want to scrap it. Has anyone solved this problem before. I have Audirvana, ITunes, Pure Music etc but the problem seems to be at the Midi, before the applications. chain = Mac > Mutec > minidsp 4x10> 4x power amps > 4 way speakers the Mutec locks on (blue light), sometimes does not get the right bit rate, sometimes does. Your wisdom and experience gratefully received Eddiechilli
  5. @Pascal64. Mac Mini El Cap, 16gb ram, A+ 2.3.1 > DAC Magic Plus. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  6. The the quote below is related to a 'digital scream' experienced in audirvana. Some people relate to internet buffering or buffer under play. I want ant to know if anyone has a solution for this digital screaming? I do not use quobuz or streaming and only play direct of Mac to dac. The scream happens 90% of the time I play a single track, it gets to the ends of the track and seems to get stuck on the last bit of data available playing it a the bit rate repeatedly. I notice tracks are often not completely loaded and expect it has not reached some kind of end of file record and so is looking for the next bit. Audivana is the best sounding player I have tested but is very buggy.
