  1. Thanks Barrows, no I don't have any particular question, I was just curious to see it and I was surprised that no reviewers ever opened the box when they usually do with anything else.
  2. Are there any pictures somewhere available showing the inside of the Signature Rendu SE Optical?
  3. I would even be willing to buy an empty black enclosure to mate my microRendu to the Uptone LPS-1 power supply which is black :-)

    HQ Player

However I still see another use case i.e. to prepare a set of a few sample files processed with various settings. I could then have these few files on a USB disks and I would be able to play them on various DACs that are not available at home (during demo or when visiting friends or shops, in environments where HQP is not available). I tried to loopback the output of HQP WASAPI into Audacity to record the bits on the fly but as soon as HQP starts the recording in Audacity stops. Is HQP somehow blocking the WASAPI loopback ?

    HQ Player

I recently bought an HQP license and I am still in early stage of learning the tool. Two questions : 1) is it possible to use HQP to process files offline i.e. starting from a source file, send it to HQP but instead of playing it directly send it to a new target file for later use ? The idea would be to process my collection offline (of course this would mean that I have to "re-process" the whole collection in case the capabilities of my DAC changes). 2) Max volume, I read Miska's recommendation to limit the volume to -3dB to avoid inter sample peaks (overs) during the oversampling process. Where do I set this limit ? In the HQP main page (the volume button) or in the settings page "Vol Max" ? BTW I also tried the "AudioRepair" tool from Xivero.com on files that were showing inter sample peaks and the correction makes a very noticeable difference indeed. I can imagine that the -3dB limit in HQP will have the same effect ?
  6. Any idea how they (Rockport or Magico) did the integration of the subs with mains in these rooms ? Was it an active or digital system dealing with crossovers and time alignment ?
  7. I guess it is the Micromega M-One ? Micromega - Le son de France
  8. BTW the extraction of the dsf files from the iso image with ISO2DSD is very CPU intensive whereas the iso extraction itself is not. On my i7 the CPU jumps to 98-99% mostly for sacd_extract.exe (around 95%). So the speed of this dsf extraction will very much depends on your hardware.
  9. Thanks for the clarification, I thought the EU version was aligned on the US version. My mistake.
  10. I can report success here as well using an Oppo 105D EU and ISO2DSD. My 105D EU is on firmware 10XEU-80-1031, funny enough when I ask the player to check for updates on internet it is telling me that I am on the latest version, which is obviously not the case... anyway. I am using the 2 steps workflow described above : 1) extracting the iso image first, 2) extracting the dsf files from the iso image. I did 11 Hybrids from Peter Gabriel yesterday evening (10 stereo and 1 stereo+multichannel), it worked flawlessly. The iso extraction speed is about 2.4 MB/s, the extraction of dsf files is much faster. All these hybrids were already tagged (without cover arts), I added them to my NAS collection which is scanned by Roon and Roon found the stereo disks and added the cover arts (as expected Roon skipped the multichannel disk). I still have a few to go today (Jacques Brel, Pink Floyd, Malher/Zander,...) but now I regret that I did not buy more of these ! A big thank you to all those involved in finding and publishing this brilliant trick.
  11. I am a French speaking Belgian indeed :-) "Musique dématérialisée", simply means music without physical support.
  12. Just found this thread today... it's really cool and even better I have an Oppo 105D EU, I'll give it a try :-) When I think that I refrained from buying SACD's because I could not dematerialize them :-)
  13. Apps/DAC Diagnostics is neither in HQP nor in Windows but in the Sonicorbiter or microrendu menu (web interface).
