  2. Yes, TDA EQ is implementing that. Let`s make a trial. As I wrote in post #10
  3. Thanks, done! sorry, I have an allergy against a blatant advertising : ) Same time I am comfortable to maintain my opinion and statements if it is necessary. All that was stated here has an objective base. The business usually is not smooth, non abrasive : ) Thank you for refreshing, Liam! Let’s clarify some simple things. I started this topic. Flac come here with his advertising. I asked him some questions about his statements. He did not like my questions : ))) Sorry for offtop Ok, let’s return to topic! Please read all materials available in first post. Especially http://aplaudio.com/downloads/Equalizing_loudspeakers.pdf Does something catch your attention? Let’s talk about that here! And please, ask for demos. I am serving professionals for 14 years. All my works are intended to meet high accuracy requirements of them. A blatant advertising is not working for professionals ... Here I am looking how audiophile community is dealing with loudspeaker correction. And, please, do not forget the subject of this topic!
  4. Mentioned automotive audio competitions are not mine. Most of them are international starting with regional, than national competitions and finishing with European final. They are EMMA, EASCA at least. You must know what happening in car audio competitions if you are selling “the best” for car audio. No excuses. Your assumption that I probably don’t know Dirac`s efforts in car audio is incorrect also. The budget of car audio competitors, that is spent to make their car audio systems ready for competition and to take participation, is very close to overall cost of your mentioned brand cars. And that serious budget is voting for technologies used in competitions … I did not see any references of car audio competitors to the “best” factory sound of your mentioned brands. The question about patents was not about how many patents Dirac has, but about how it holds in respect patent rights of other authors. It is very incorrect to publish some concepts as your own when they were already published 10 years ago. How did you test your automotive solutions to be sure that they are truly the best and you are not misinforming your customers? BR, Raimonds
  5. Hi Flavio, Nice marketing speech! I hope your salary will be respective : ) And about statements. I know how JBL saved investments of its clients into Vertec system in 2003, 2004 And how new preset v3 for that system was created with following press statement „the new presets provide improved mutual-coupling characteristics, both on and off axis,”... Interesting why ARCOS is so secret solution – just one paper published and access only with respective clearance ... Where is your source how ARCOS deals with room and what kinds of filters are used? Interesting statement in your mentioned press release: „to extend Dirac’s digital audio solutions and superior tuning technology to HARMAN’s best-in-class automotive audio and infotainment system applications.” ... sorry, I never seen Dirac in automotive audio competitions as it. But Harman`s products just in lowest classes and places ... Thanks for document! I see a total ignorance of patent rights, as there is no even one patent cited in that document. Looks like the Dirac`s patent department is not working. Or may be it does not have such department? BR, Raimonds
  6. Hi, Thanks for questions! I see three different approaches. 1. Highest quality. Let’s use your speakers in near field, 1m from you as example, and let TDA EQ does its job. 2. Highest efficiency. Let’s place speakers close into corners and use the corner’s bass bust to have high efficiency and Sound Power measurement to have control on frequency response on such 8 speakers system (1 real, 7 virtual). 3. No changes in your speaker placement but use Sound Power measurement to have your real FR in power domain and allow EQ to fill up a dip. This dip may be not so serious from prospective of SP measurement view in comparison what you see in one particular point. I can send you the set of APL Workshop software and VST plagin demos to try out how it works in Sound Power domain. We should use such virtual process to try TDA EQ. Please download the testsignal of TDA EQ http://aplaudio.com/downloads/TS_48_96k_25p.rar Play it and record by use of measurement mic. Send recorded file to me. It contains 25 sweeps. You should move the measurement mic all the recording time to cover some square (25 x 25 points) in front of your speaker (distance 0.5 ...1 m) to cover some + - 5...10 degr. around the axes. Any other members of this forum are welcome also. Good luck, Raimonds
  7. Thank you for opinion, „They operate together as an inseparable system in delivering the sound to our ears.” Sorry, no. This question is exactly an object of the paper „Equalizing Loudspeakers” The idea that pre distortions introduced into loudspeaker’s performance will be eliminated (compensated, neutralized) by room distortions is utopia and incorrect. We should have uncolored loudspeaker to be able to create uncolored acoustic image. “Room EQ and many other applications of DSP are still young as technologies.” For Room EQ I agree. Not for loudspeaker detailed EQ. “many other quality Room Correction packages exist at reasonable prices.” You should ask how many of them are being used by professionals … “endorse them based on careful listening” The curiosity is such that even professionals have difficulties to judge some new “sound” just by LISTENING test. Another story is by working test – to use it for recording and especially for mixing. If the tuning job is done well the working test is referencing two times less time used for finishing job (with higher quality because of freshness of ears and head) and no new wishes for update from producer … Please meet “back stage” of your lovely music production. It is not like just to place a mic and to push the “rec” button. Thanks, Raimonds
  8. Hello, I see high interest about the subject here. I would like to offer my expertise collected in 14 years of serving professionals. Let’s start with discussion with Dr. Floyd Toole about his paper "The Measurement and Calibration of Sound Reproducing Systems": https://secure.aes.org/forum/pubs/journal/?ID=524 The full version of discussion is available here: http://aplaudio.com/downloads/Reading_Dr_Toole.pdf And what can be corrected – loudspeakers or room: http://aplaudio.com/downloads/Equalizing_loudspeakers.pdf BR, Raimonds
