  1. Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have. Rene Descartes
  2. I am thinking about the Drobo FS as well. Do you have it connected directly to your computer or to the network/router?
  3. I was having many of the same connection problems and linking the mini to the router with an ethernet cable solved them all. My mini is now very reliable controlled by my mbp.
  4. Vander, How are you controlling the mini in your setup? Thanks, Dave
  5. I just ran some cat5 connecting my time capsule router to my mini in the living room. A whole set of problems were eliminated. No more losing the mini from the network requiring a restart, much quicker response when using screen sharing, and now coverflow works when previously it didn't. I was ready to buy a sonos before I spent ten bucks on some cat5 and now am happy. Dave
  6. I've thought about running some CAT5 from the time capsule to the mini because of some dropouts when recording internet radio. This may solve my other problem with the mini dropping off screen sharing. It even will drop off at times when the mini is still playing so it is not a problem of it going to sleep. If I run CAT5 from the time capsule to the mini and turn off wifi in the mini does screen sharing run through the time capsule? Thanks again for the help. David
  7. Thanks for the reply. I have it set to never sleep but on "schedule" I have it set to turn off at 12AM and turn on at 0600. I don't have an itouch but will see if the apple remote will wake it next time.
  8. Thanks to everyone for a great site. I run a headless mac mini controlled by a macbook pro. I have problems maintaining my wireless connection. Every day when I sit down to listem to my mini connected to my main stereo I cannot find it listed in Finder. My Time Capsule is always listed and connected. I end up performing a hard start of my mini and then it appears in Finder and screen sharing works fine. I checked the box to allow screen sharing in the "Sharing" icon in preferences in the hope that this would maintain the connection but that was no help. Any suggestions? DaveWA
