  1. Just downloaded Blizzard Of Ozz (Expanded Edition) and noticed they fade out the kicka$$ guitar solo at the end of Mr.Crowley, that's not very "expanded." Wonder why this was done? Now I am doomed to listen to this on YouTube.
  2. Happy to say all is back to normal. Got 10.11 installed, no more ticks.
  3. The "static ticks" disappear if I up-sample all to DSD. Not sure what that means?
  4. All went great with the Ayre and Mac Mini setup untill last night when I (finally) did a Mac software update. Sierra V10.12.4 and it install a bunch of standard applications updates. Now anything played through the Ayre, whether a website sound or Audirvana music specifically has what sounds like static ticks every 20 seconds or so. When I play sound through the Mac Mini build-in speakers there is no static ticks. Anyone have similar problem? Any suggestions are appreciated (I do not have time Machine active on this Mac)
  5. Just downloaded Bach St.Matthews Passion - Netherlands Bach Society form Channel Classics. Could not get through the first four tracks. Jos Van Veldhoven's tempos are excruciating. I had problems recognizing the amazing opening. Now streaming Yuotube - John Elliot Gardiner Ready for Easter now.
  6. I've not been on the forum for a while and also notice my iPhone CA app no longer works. Tried to re-download from app store but it's no longer there? What have I missed? No longer an app available? Cheers! Manuel
  7. According to article they polled 3 conductors: Simon Rattle Marin Alsop Sakari Oramo Sorry, but for a international magazine that's not the most authoritative group (except Simon Rattle)
  8. Any agreements, disagreements on the BBC Magazine list? Not sure about #9 - Tchaikovsky Symphony No 6. I personally don't think it should be top 10 at all. It does have an amazing second movement. The BBC Music Magazine top 10 1. Beethoven Symphony No 3 (1803) 2. Beethoven Symphony No 9 (1824) 3. Mozart Symphony No 41 (1788) 4. Mahler Symphony No 9 (1909) 5. Mahler Symphony No 2 (1894 rev 1903) 6. Brahms Symphony No 4 (1885) 7. Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique (1830) 8. Brahms Symphony No 1 (1876) 9. Tchaikovsky Symphony No 6 (1893) 10. Mahler Symphony No 3 (1896) https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/aug/04/beethoven-eroica-greatest-symphony-vote-bbc-mozart-mahler
  9. Primaluna Dialouge Five. Second floor of the home is about 90F that's where the amp is and the main floor it's about 80F. Wednesday is the earliest I can get AC techs to come out
  10. Running tubes inside on a hot day? Oh yes, my AC is not working either but that is not stopping me from enjoying some music, 109 is just the case.
  11. Just got my new/used Ayre QB-9 DSD (bought from a CA member!) and got my first DSD64 download, Mozart Violin Concertos on Pentatone When I play the files in A+ under Preferences / Active Audio Device, I see in green 44.1 through 192 but DSD64 .... etc is greyed out. The playback info does state 64DSD file playing. The Ayre front panel reads 176. So is it streaming DSD or converting to 176 PCM ?
  12. Fixed the A+ volume, noticed in A+ Preferences you can set volume of DAC only and or software. I find it easy to use the A+ volume on the iPhone app when I am in different rooms. Makes life easy.
  13. Just installed QB-9 and turns out software volume control no longer works in A+ and or the Mac OS volume control. Also the volume control in the A+ iPhone app no longer works. Wonder if there is a work around.
  14. Thanks, looks like it will work for my setup, system is 80% used to play flac files via A+, then stream Radio Swiss Classic website and then stream video using Safari and iTunes for movies.
