  1. Nevermind, it's working just fine now. Something was up with the clean power supply after all, a wonky USB-C input cable. Mods, I can't remove the topic, which I'd like to do so as not to give the impression that these products are marred with flaws when they're not, so please do it for me. Thanks
  2. I have exactly the same problem as described here: DigiOne Signature Player - Roon Playback Not Working I bought my DigiOne Signature two years ago and tried it out just briefly then (nice sound!) in anticipation of finishing the rest of my system. Well, the pandemic happened and I've had to dedicate all my time to keep my business afloat with zero time for leisure including hi-fi. Nevertheless, today I booted up the RPi 3B+ rev 1.3 and RoPieeeXL updated automatically to v4.002 with Roon Bridge v1.8 (build 814). I enabled the streamer in Roon Core v1.8 (build 831) but experience exactly the same problem as described in the other thread, in that upon hitting play, playback doesn't start (stays at 00:00) for 15 seconds before it skips to the next song in the album/playlist and tries again for 15 seconds before skipping to the the third track and so on. I've double checked the clean power (tried both charged battery pack and regular PSU, confirmed working with DMM). I've rebooted streamer and Roon Core PC several times. I enabled Shairport-Sync and HQPlayer NAA in RoPieeeXL (normally off) and tried streaming both via AirPlay from my iPhone and from HQPlayer Desktop. None of it works. I've tried enabling WiFi (normally off) to see if it makes a difference but no. The only thing I haven't tried is downloading the latest RoPieee and reflash the SD card but why should I when it seems to be running just fine and recognising the DigiOneSig as the installed HAT. Is there a LED on the top board that is supposed to be lit because there is none, only on the lower power board (between top and RPi)? I have to say I'm really disappointed in the quality of this Allo flagship product if it turns out it has electronically developed a fault after having had no more than a couple of hours of signal processing through it, especially since it's now out of warranty having been sitting untouched on the shelf all this time. Hopefully though, it's something else that can be resolved – here's hoping…
  3. OK thanks - and both have drivers for the DigiOne? Any difference in SQ between them?
  4. I am assembling a DigiOne Signature with a RPI 3B+ to use exclusively as an endpoint for Roon. However, which O/S should I use for optimal sound quality - Roon's own, DietPi or Roopie...? Not sure what distro Roon's own RoonBridge for RPI is based on nor whether it has the necessary DigiOne driver.
  5. I would like to reform the way I listen to music today and migrate to a Roon platform. What's holding me back is that I don't understand if I can have endpoints that can implement FIR crossovers and output over a multi-channel DAC, the way I do it today with JRIVER convolving filters created with Audiolense. So let's say my bedroom system consist of a pair of 2-way active speakers, where each of the 4 drivers is driven by its own Class D amp, which amps in turn are fed by a multi-channel DAC (like the miniDSP U-DAC8) connected to a NUC running Win 10 and JRIVER for convolver duties. Today, this is a DLNA endpoint (through JRIVER) but it is my understanding that this doesn't work with Roon, where Roon needs to own the queue and the endpoints are stupid. So how could I achieve this with Roon? Convolve at Core/Server level rather than at endpoint? I know Roon can convolve but can it convolve multiple filters and streams for different rooms/endpoints in parallel? Can Roon even convolve a stereo signal into a multi-channel signal or is it limited to stereo output only (i.e. room correction but no crossovers)? Do I need to involve HQplayer somehow? Ideally, I would like to use RPi 3/DietPi/Roon Bridge endpoints but I doubt they would have the CPU power to convolve say six channels of 131k tap FIR filters. Even if the Roon Server could convolve, is RPi 3/DietPi/Roon Bridge compatible with any multi-channel USB DACs? What about Signalyst's NAA instead of Roon Bridge, does that change anything? Or could I just install Roon Bridge on a Windows 10 NUC and use JRIVER WDM output to a multi-channel DAC? If that's the only way, I'll go with that, but it's just not a very elegant solution....
  6. I picked up the U-DAC8 but think it might have been a mistake becauase the ASIO driver doesn't seem multi-client capable, rendering it pretty much useless for what I was going to use it for (feeding two different active 2-way systems)... Thanks, ilok - I'll check it out! Someone told me a few others to check out are TC Electronics Impact Twin, Behringer FCA610, and Alva Nanoface (RME Babyface clone). Anybody have any experience with these?
  7. Still the same thing, Kal. A USB mic is just one with a built-in USB sound card. However, there's a new feature in Audiolense apparently that allows using different devices for recording and playback which started out as beta but is now generating satisfactory results. So I will be trying out the U-DAC-8 after all. While I have your attention, any suggestions for a great 4-channel budget DAC for a similar application but a different system...?
  8. LIO-8 will be Windows compatible?!? That's the best news I've heard in a long time - thanks Will def be keeping an eye out for the 3D card. However the DAC (or DACs) I'm looking for here will be for my daughters' systems. For the mic preamp. Measurements with Audiolense work best (in the time domain) if done using the same sound card for recording and playback.
  9. Oh no... no line-in!! Won't do, need that with Audiolense - so still looking for suggestions.
  10. Bulls eye!! Thank you, Kal - will proceed to place order asap.
  11. Application: Active speaker XO using JRMC Prime Candidate: ESI Gigaport HD+ Runner-Up: Looking for better suggestions
  12. Does the MAc version have a native convolver like the PC version? If so, is it as advanced as the PC version and how many output channels are supported? If it doesn't, does it at least have support for VST plugins so it's possible to run e.g. ConvolverVST? This is for use with Audiolense.
  13. Oh man... that is sooo good news *IF* it will feature the convolver (CRITICAL!). That would simplify my use of Audiolense + MH LIO-8 a lot!
