  1. You are correct. I tested out the Bluetooth and oh boy is the DAC in my phone terrible. Although I can see this capability as valuable for those that have newer DAPs from the likes of Onkyo, Pioneer, A&K etc.
  2. Sending music through my Samsung Note 4 might be a very useful End Point. This is probably a stupid question but how does one do this same thing with an Android phone? I cannot seem to find anything on this topic in the Roon Forums.
  3. Thanks Chris for this simple tutorial. I was able to get Roon moved over with minimal fuss to the NUC and it has worked flawlessly so far when connected to my NAS. One thing worthy of note that caused me difficulty at first was my use of a switch - it caused repeated drop outs in my wired network. At least I'm assuming it was the switch because as soon as I removed it from the chain the dropouts stopped. The NUC does make a little fan noise if your setup has it out in the open. I stuff mine behind everything in my theater setup so it's not an issue.
  4. Chris, thank you for the sage advice. These are exciting times! This innovation has prompted me to buy the i7 unit and will be rebuilding my Roon setup from scratch with a NAS as well. However, since the sole purpose of the NUC is to run Roon, how does one use calibration software with a mic? I have the Umik-1 (from miniDSP) and the Room Eq Wizard software. Is that even possible?
  5. Each of these units works flawlessly and I have been the only owner who has taken care of them well. They are in mint condition. I have the remote for the Squeezebox Touch but not for the Boom - the Radio never came with a remote. $400 for all three units and I'm only interested in selling them together as a complete package. The Radio is white color while the Boom and the Touch are both black. 6. This nice little two-channel digital music system only needs speakers and you are ready to rock and roll! The complete system I am selling is the NovaPre and the Nova 220 amplifier. The system is in new condition without a scratch. It sounds fantastic! The only reason I'm selling is because my new apartment doesn't appreciate how loud it gets! Preference given to those who reside near the Minneapolis market because I'd rather not bother with shipping. I purchased this system locally for $1750 four years ago from Stereoland in Bloomington. It's a gloss black finish pictured like in this product pitch page:https://www.crutchfield.com/S-cKStOS56q9d/p_731NOPRECH/Peachtree-novaPre-Cherry.html
  7. Hi guys, my new Aries Mini showed up today. I was looking for something to replace my SB Touch and CAPS server for a while now and the Mini sounded very promising. Alas, I did not do enough research and it appears Auralic has a lot of work to do before any software can be used aside from Apple products. I have just about everything EXCEPT Apple products. Before I go out and buy an old used iPhone just to use DS Lightning app, I thought I would ask this forum's advice. So....to use the cool features of the Mini, has anyone had any success with Android or PC-based software? I'd like to stream wireless in my network using a Peachtree Nova Pre in my main stack. I would move the Mini to a Schiit Gungnir when I want to use it with headhpones. I have a modern router with ample support for most features. Does anyone have experience using an iOS Emulator? Thoughts are appreciated.
