  1. For Trackstat, I found the solution, just select the very last selector "use unsupported extension", Trackstat was moving in that list (seen in LMS dedicated forum) because the creator stop developping it for personnal reasons, but as it was fully working (in my side), it seems OK to use it still ^^. I'm using it to rate my tracks, a new plugin can do it recently "Rating lights". But I didn't found the way to show evaluated tracks to play selected rating, neither how to import a Trackstat saved file, neither import the Mediamonkey evaluation I made years ago. Such a shame that there is no cleaner solution to rate .flac and generate open (I mean an open standard format) data base , as evaluation is not a standard line in .flac metadata, unlike ID3 :(
  2. there is a space used for stockage on the USB key (but who use it? ), this certainly why the loght still flashing. But just for update facility, you have to install on a definitive disk, an old small ssd is perfect ;). For my trasckstat trouble, still not present on the plugin list on the 21.01 version :(. No response on the Facebook chat :/
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but daphile "core" is send to the RAM, so whatever the speed of the usb port it change nothing, just the loading time maybe. I'd also a question, since the 20.08 I can't use Trackstat anymore (unactive and disappear from the plugin list). The last version don't correct it, other return for Trackstat?
  4. Both need the "information about music and artists" plugin activate from Michael Herger. Best plugin with material skin But big database will take more time to be scanned if you keep the picture research
  5. I use a short cable (2 ft) , that I made myself with an AES/EBU cable DH Labs Silver Sonic D-110 (for 110 ohm) and Neutrik XLR connectors, and my DAC is 192khz capable. I don't think it come from that (I will try to measure pin voltage to confirm) but your experience is very interesting
  6. Please, don't hesitate to thanks or report bug to [email protected] , it seems that nobody told them news , but it certainly mean that nobody has troubles (except me). I resolve my 48khz limitation but now I've trouble to play 192khz (96 is ok), Daphile seem to play well (and recognized an hardware limitation at 192khz ) but no sound from the PUC2, someone else has trouble with 192khz? To clarify and resumed for new readers: yes, the PUC2 and the PUC2 lite are now linux compatible. I'm just unlucky
  7. (Ok, I don't know this AES limit, 192khz is more than sufficient for my system)
  8. Nice to read : ), I transmit your 1st post to the Yellowtec team. For your question, I suppose there is an hardware limitation, I suppose also there is no hidden capacity for this kind of product (audio professional). Personally, I really doubt of the recent "race" to higher and higher sample frequency, it seems an "easy" upgrade for users, but to me, there is more important things to upgrade before, maybe less easy and more costly :D, but with certainly more results, I think to a room optimization, a better amp and better speaker etc.
  9. so, does any other PUC2 user check this firmware with daphile? I'm feeling pretty alone
  10. He he, I was waiting a mail for the bêta test reclamation before I post, now I can post this good news: "We finally compiled a new Firmware for PUC2 which is capable to work on Linux. In the following Folder you can find a pdf explaining what to do and two Firmware Versions. Version 2.34 is for Linux." This is the link. You are allowed to distribute the Link if you want. But it is only for Beta Testing. So only people which are aware that this is a beta test should use it. There is no guarantee we will take over at this point. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c768uk3gwxoltoe/AADmPxyCoF9jSccvMOhfSvlSa?dl=0 There is one issue. You can update the device only from a Windows machine. So you need to install the driver on Windows and use the updater tool. Which are both available on our Website. http://www.yellowtec.com/en/downloads/puc2-usb-audio-devices.html " "If you experience Bugs or any questions feel free to write an e-mail: [email protected]" So, I test it (easy), Daphile stay at max hardware capability: 48khz , even with the last beta version of Daphile. I will try Euphony trial to test another OS. I already contact them for that. But anyway, it is a big step for us : ) , thank you Yellowtec!
  11. Good news! They are still working on it in Yellowtech : "we reached 192 kHz on Linux". :) We will certainly soon have a solution from them, but they have two way to resolve the trouble: between ask changes in the Kernel and/or firmware changes. I hope we will have a solution before this summer! Technically : as it was already mentioned, this is a USB descriptor trouble, windows use USB Audio CLASS 1 Mode while Linux and MAC do 1 and 2. But linux selects Mode 1... for a stupid? reason. That is why this is a Kernel problem, but we can use also a "forced" firmware with only the descriptor 2 capable. But, that means also that windows users have to use the other firmware, so if you use the PUC on the both OS...
  12. Hi, "This will be looked up more in detail in December." They have now Linux machine and programmer on it apparently, we are on the good way , I will ask again in January!
  13. Hi, I'm waiting some fresh news from Yellowtech, I finally got a response weeks ago, it was question of a firmware, I can't assume this, as the firm don't, because nobody still know if it will work or not. Be patient and enjoy 48khz . I will post any news. Great for this player, do you compare to Daphile? (the version of Daphile is still changing every 2 weeks, with some benefits) cheers, JS
  14. Hi, as Yellowtech still not respond to me, I begin my own research (as a newby-linux-user) hard to understand correctly, here is interesting elements: https://lacocina.nl/detect-alsa-output-capabilities Any chance to "just" find a way to change manually the line (thirst window) "4 - usb audio class = 2 - isochronous asynchronous"?
  15. Hi, Sorry for the delay but, we there is no big news . Yellowtech told me, mid of february, that it's not possible to just apply a new firmware to solve the problem, the USB descriptor is in the boot loader (not the firmware). But, all is not lost because on MAC, the USB audio class 2 works well. The next step is to found why Linux (with ALSA) choose USB audio class 1 instead of 2. The guy from Yellowtech end his last mail that he need some time to prepare everything for the ALSA devel discussion, providing hints how configurations has to be chosen by linux. It was 17th february, I contact him again just for news the 23 March but I've no response yet, I hope we will enjoy 24bit a day
