  1. I'm another happy HDPLEX 100W Linear PSU owner, and thought I'd echo Doak's and wanta911's recent positive comments about this thing in case you’re reading here for recommendations (I have no connection to HDPLEX). It's heavy and well built, and just sits there quietly in the back corner of my cabinet, doing its thing. In my setup it doesn't get hot. I power a Tranquil MMC12 fanless HTPC based on an Intel DH61AG motherboard, running on 19V. The milled aluminum PC case IS the heat sink for the hot components on the motherboard – no heat pipes needed. The HDPLEX replaced the crappy switching power supply that came with the PC, solved a nasty ground loop problem, and made me realise just how noisy my house power is. I hear a huge improvement in sound quality, but coming from where I started, I'm not at all surprised. I think the HDPLEX is great value for money, especially compared other linear power supplies that cost a lot more. If you’re curious, I use the optical output from the MMC12 into a Schiit Bifrost Uber DAC, into an Arcam A38 amp into Paradigm Studio20v4 speakers. I also power my first bit of “real” digital audio gear, and still my favorite, the Roku Soundbridge M1001, on 5V with an extra-long cable HDPLEX provided at no extra charge. As long as I can keep my Soundbridge running, I don’t feel the need for a shiny new network player.
