  1. 5c worth here; In case anyone finds it useful: I had similar issues with my sms200ultra Neo. Tried several different SD cards, none of which made a noticeable difference, and I almost gave up on the product. However, since coming across it by chance, (and feeling I had nothing to loose) I have had real success with using a 32GB SanDisk MAX ENDURANCE SDHC (memory card for dashcams). SanDisk states they are: "Designed with long-lasting endurance so you can record and re-record for up to 120,000 hours (over 13 years). Built for and tested in harsh conditions; temperature-proof, waterproof, shockproof and X-ray-proof." I seriously doubted it would make a difference, but I have now had a card in place for five months without further issues (at most two or three crashes, instead of two or three per day) and have updated firmware a couple of times.
  2. Hi Greg, I have a very similar set up (sMS-200 Ultra Neo via the Uptone EtherRegen) and have been experiencing the same repeated drop-outs. Restarting the Neo usually worked, and if not as your experience, everything else I could think of - this also usually fixed the problem. Yesterday that stopped working. A series of sd restores (different sd cards & firmware versions) failed as well. I also swapped out the EtherRegen for another network switch. Currently, I can see every device on my home network except the Neo. I've dropped May @ SoTM an email, I'll let you know what happens.
  3. Upgraded also - took about 20 minutes but went well. all working in my system (see sig).
  4. Just updated to 4.55 via Eunhasu. 5 mins, no issues using Roon, all sounds lovely..Eunhasu interface much more responsive.
  5. I tried that with 4.5 but the download always stalled. I never tried it with 4.51. This the reason I bought a new/faster/bigger capacity micro-SD card - didn't want to risk being without music! You could copy 4.22 onto another card, test that card and then try it.
  6. I'd suggest trying with different SD card adapters/readers: I had exactly that issue the first time I tried to create a disk image using dd Utility (on a mac) - after several attempts I noticed that dd Utility as quitting at different stages of its installation process (see my earlier posts - dd Utility's 'PROCESS' count numbers don't correspond with percentage of completion). I ended up trying several microSD card adapters and readers until I had one that worked (this with 4.5 & the original SOtM SD card). I then upgraded to a larger capacity and faster SD card and created the disk image the same way but installed 4.51 for the website link. That worked fine too. Hope that helps!
  7. Pretty much my experience, result with Roon and conclusion too!
  8. I used this 'one-piece' 4.51 download yesterday as I was upgrading the micro SD card to a Samsung 64GB Evo Select. (I had previously installed 4.5 on the SD card that came with the Neo and then updated to 4.51 through Eunhasu). Installation worked first time - using dd Utility to burn the disc image was obviously much quicker on the Evo.... But this was interesting: The front power button one now behaves just as it did when I was running 4.22 - ie it only flashes when a music signal is passing through and is just 'on' when not. So I wondered whether this one-piece download would solve any of the other issues people were having.
  9. 4.5 fine in my system (see sig.) - experienced occasional stuttering until I upped the buffer duration to 0.5s & resync delay to 0.3s in Roon. Had to download and write to SD card using dd Utility as online update kept stalling at 3%. The dd Utility failed on the first couple of attempts so I swapped out card reader and micro SD adapter several times until I found a working combination - The dd Utility instructions are clear but partial. I had updates had failed between 'PROCESS' 19 and 62 a few times. I was expecting it to stop at 100...but it ran to 'PROCESS 212' (or 217 i can't remember) on the update that worked. All good now - update gave a noticeable improvement to my system, especially low end clarity and separation as mentioned in the SoTM press release notes.
  10. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated Mac utility at the moment, but it is in the works as we speak and I'm very much hoping that we'll be able to release it soon. I should have a more accurate for you in the next few days. I'm a Mac user myself so I understand the potential disappointment if you don't have any Windows machines around. Thanks for your patience, Julian That is fabulous to hear Julian - i look forward to hearing when the Mac utility will be available.
  11. Have you just updated to OSX 10.11.5 or iTunes 12.4.0.119? I have had similar problems and there is a thread running here in the software forum: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/itunes-12-4-a-28626/ - see my last post on the page - It might be resolved with an Intona firmware update. And as both the REGEN and the Intona are no longer recognised but the Mutec is I'm beginning to wonder if the OS update is to blame.
  12. Thank you wwaldmanfan, apology excepted. Ok - morning update in case anyone else is in the same/similar predicament. Pursuing use of iTunes 12.4 and OS X 10.11.5 as an investigation, first thought: I think the issue extends beyond iTunes 12.4, to the OS update. The audio midi refuses to recognise that my Mutec is connected if I leave either the Intona or Regen or both in the USB chain. If I connect the USB directly to the Mutec using it appears immediately in the Audio Midi devices list & can be selected. I emailed UpTone and Intona last night; Intona contacted me this morning (thank you Intona!) saying that the issue may be solved for their device with a firmware update - so it will be going off shortly. Hopefully I'll hear something from UpTone today. Restarted/reconnected everything and repeated smc flash etc with a direct USB/Mutec connection; iTunes with Pure Music 3.0.5 works! All file types inc DSD. However, if I try using Audirvana 2.5.1.4 (in iTunes integrated mode or standalone) Audio Midi deselects the Mutec as an audio output option and selects built-in audio (on both of my systems) I cannot select the Mutec as an audio output until I quit Audirvana. For now I have music, just without the Regens or Intonas.
  13. Ok wwaldmanfan - I get it, I'm an idiot....an idiot who's been using Mac products since about 1987, luckily without an issue that I haven't seen a way to resolve/work around before. So I'm asking the forum for advice. Are there are any constructive comments you could offer that might help me?
