  1. Mike.s, Thank you, the fields I need are: genre, artist, album, song, album artist, cd, cd count, track, track count, composer, and album artist. The first four + album artist are "unique". Do you suppose there's a way to point JRiver at my metadata file, which has the song location info, and have it use that?
  2. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I was unable to find it. I am thinking of moving from iTunes to JRiver and want to make sure everything transfers correctly. I have my iTunes library on the local drive and the music on an attached FireWire drive. In reading the JRiver web site they mention that MC will find the music on the local drive but say nothing about whether or not it will find music on an attached drive or pull meta data from the iTunes library. (I do have a file on the desktop with a text version of the library). I just want to make sure I don't lose the ~1500 hours I have in carefully tagging the music. Will JRiver grab the tags as well as the music on the remote drive. Since I'm going to have to purchase a new computer as part of this, would I be better served by switching to windows? Thank you
