  1. Not sure this is what you need but Schiit makes the SYS. Schiit Audio, Headphone amps and DACs made in USA.
  2. I believe Jason once suggested you look at your house wiring, then ask yourself whether the last three feet really make that much difference.
  3. I have the same concerns as you. Especially as to the Schiit DAC drivers. Everything currently works so well. I wish I had a second computer.
  4. As a newby I had no idea of AudioPhil's thread. So sorry if I stepped on any toes.
  5. OK, I guess the above statement is too ridiculous to warrant comments. I must agree.
  6. A thread has been started on another forum stating "Windows 10 has far better sound quality than Windows 7." I'm happy with Win 7. Is there any truth to the above statement?
  7. Actually in this case, as the units are Japanese spec, a step-down transformer would be required. The unit would work as normal. No doubt, all the rest is true. Too bad there isn't an American distributor. ( At least one I could find. )
  8. I have a Modi and a Modi 2U. Just got the DC-1 yesterday.
  9. Thanks again all. I'm primarily a HeadFier. I've been using Schiit amps and DACs with a collection of headphones, from Sennheiser HD800s on down. Recently got the Cavalli Liquid Carbon and the DC-1. I'm running an old Sony CD transport into the coax input of the DC-1 at 44.1 K. I'm also using Spotify, and others, out of my PC. The PC has higher sample rates, but is currently running 44.1 K. My question was specifically related to higher sample rates out of my PC. I'm very satisfied with my current setup but was curious what difference , if any , changing the sample rate would have. I think I'll just leave things as they are.
  10. Thank you for the information. It would appear that any changes I make will not result in improved sound quality. I'll leave things as they are.
  11. I got a new DAC today. An Emotiva Stealth DC-1. So for the first time I can see the incoming sample rate from my computer. Currently it reads 44.1 khz. My question: Can / should I change it, and if so, how do I accomplish changing it? Be gentle, I'm old school.
  12. Well, I've got quite a collection of , what I consider different sounding, headphones. And also a capable EQ. So I think I'll have to try a pair of Nighthawks. I like to try to find the "right" genre for each headphone I have, so the Nighthawk sounds like a challenge.
  13. Great bunch of comments. I may have to treat myself to an early Christmas present.
  14. I see you own the AQ Nighthawks. A headphone that seems to have generated real controversy among HeadFiers. I would be interested in your impressions, as the Nighthawk is on my radar as my next headphone purchase.
