My (very) mini review of the Singxer SU-1 DDC
paulinus replied to tboooe's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
I wrote them an e-mail and got following reply: -------- Dear Sir, Thank you for your mail. We are aware that a particular customer in China is using the ES8620 in a new DAC. This device was originally designed for Soundbar applications and has been non-preferred for new designs for several years. We do not recommend this device for new designs and we are not supporting it here in Europe. Sincerely, David B***** ------- -

IMHO, so much power (3A) necessary for clock oven. -
I have exactly the same problem with my UltraRendu and Singxer SU-1 ! Looks like a common problem feature.

HOLO Audio Spring DAC - R2R DSD512
paulinus replied to bibo01's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
You could try to contact Wildism Audio (www.wildismaudio.com). They have it for 7300hk dollars. I ordered my Holo Spring from them last year. Shipment time was about 3 weeks (low prio post service). But you need to take care about customs yourself. -
What about clocking? Is it the same or even better quality than Crystek installed in SU-1?

Mike, I'm sorry that my hints were not helpful! Probably make sense to post here screenshots with mRendu MPD/SMB settings?
-
Try to do the following: 1. Switch to any other output mode except MPD (e.g. Roon); 2. Reboot 3. Remove MPD from installed applications; 4. Reboot 5. Install MPD from available applications 6. Reboot 7. Update MPD database and check whether everything is OK

It was not working initially, so I didn't tried this setting after update Now I've checked and everything is working fine. Thank you, Jesus !!

Updated. Rebooted and tried proposed setting as well as http://192.168.1.118/storage/nas Result - negative.

Tried, but it is not working either What program you are using where cover art working fine with SW2.5 ?
-
Dear Jesus, Could you please push me in the right direction regarding proper cover art setting (yes, again ) Here are necessary symptoms: Device: mRendu (IP=192.168.1.118) Output mode: MPD Management SW: Cantata 2.0.1 (OS X), MPDroid 1.07.2 (android) Cover name: folder.jpg Cantata=MPDroid setting (music folder or link to cover art): http://192.168.1.118/music/ Problem description: with SW2.3 everything is working fine with above mentioned setting. With SW2.5 covers are not loaded. SW2.3 and SW2.5 settings you could see below. Question: What are the right setting for cover-art loading in SW2.5? Note: In SW2.5 mounting point was changed. Moreover, in SW2.5 SMB is not installed by default. You have to install it through Apps (in SW2.3 it was installed "from the factory"). Could be a reason??

I think you are wrong, or there are different PCB revisions. Let us take a look on transformer (pic.1) I marked pins from right to left. So, in case of series connection, pins 2 and 3 must be connected together. Now, let us take a look on the other side (pic.2) As you could see pins 2 and 4 are connected together. It is hard to see, but on component side pins 1 and 3 are connected together as well. Looks like secondaries connected in parallel. -

Yep, my fault! Choose wrong type. Even in this case it is hard to guarantee one-to-one swap (from mechanical point of view). E.g. LM2940CT-5 is TO-220, which is 10x15mm. -

IMHO, no, because PCB size of this LDO is 25x35mm. Replacement could be painful.
