any update on the Berkeley USB to S/PDIF converter? And have you ever tried the M2tech hiFace, that seems a bargain at that price?

Have a nice day,
Fabrizio -
Just received: M2Tech Hiface USB interface
riderforever replied to kamil's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
...that due to these various (unexpected?) bugs in both OsX and Windows driver, the Linux users are still without any driver for the hiFace That's really disappointing, I'd like to try the hiFace with my MPD setup but I'm stuck because of that. -

...the usb input of the PSA DLIII works in adaptive mode, while the hiFace uses the asynchronous mode with proprietary drivers. I've waiting for the hiFace too, I'm hoping the hear the same improvement here! -
How to convert WAV files with CUE sheets to FLAC without re-ripping
riderforever replied to hifinut's topic in Software
...can read the cuesheet and load all data from it. Then just select all files, right click, "convert" and choose the format you like more (eg. FLAC). Btw, by default *.cue files are not loaded into playlist, so remove the extension from the ignore list in the advanced options. -
...what I know for sure is that that dealer sells the BADA also to customers outside Switzerland (for example Italy), so if a EU citizen is interested it's a good idea to drop a message to digitalcom

Just received: M2Tech Hiface USB interface

...new drivers are available, for both Mac and Windows (with WASAPI support). Have you tried them yet? -
...four years ago we had really a great time here in Turin, I wish you the same now in Vancouver! Back to the topic, from the Lynx AES16 specs I read: Eight stereo inputs and eight stereo outputs 24-bit AES/EBU format, transformer coupled Also the RME HDSP9632 provides this "feature": AES/EBU: 1 x XLR, transformer-balanced, galvanically isolated, according to AES3-1992 output voltage 3.5 Vpp So how is it possible to hear such improvement only because of a further isolation? Isn't the soundcard isolation enough? Maybe a RMAA analysis with and without the Antelope DA in place could help in understanding what's going on...

And what do you think about the USB2-->AES3 box? Depending on the price it could be a cheaper alternative to the Lynx Aes + Antelope DA combo, I'm wondering if it can even improve the level of performance or with the BADA there will always be an unbreakable wall of 50ps jitter, due to the AES input http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/Reclockers#comment-33723
