  1. I suggest find a really good dealer Hear stuff in your home before committing to purchase (especially your speakers) Better still hear as many systems as you can so you can figure out what you like and dislike
  2. I forgot to mention get the Tinkerboard S type Here a link to a link where a few people who had the digione have now moved onto the Tinkerboard http://theaudiostandard.net/thread/5234/building-volumio-usb-network-streamer
  3. The build is quite straight forward Get a Tinkerboard You will need a case I used a Asaka A-RA03-M1B. Putting the unit in the case is straight forward make sure you are using the heat sinks during the installation I am using a 16gb sim card and downloaded Volumio for the Tinkerboard Do not use the Switch mode power supply it will sound awful You could get a power bank that can cope with a 3 amp load. This is critical otherwise it will not power up I am using a dedicated power supply with supercaps a bit over the top You do not a hat unlike the pi. I have added a reclocker decent USB cables and decent isolation feet You will need a USB based DAC I also added a few IFI USB silencers but this is just me pushing the unit as far as I can take it
  4. A friend if mine was using the Cunas power supply but prefers the Temple Audio Supercharger he using with a Lindemann Limetree not a pi board I think similar price
  5. I know this is a old thread but I used to have the SOtM 200 Ultra Neo and I am now using the ASUS Tinkerboard S at present being powered by a 12v battery with a 5v converter I am also using a Oehbach XXL Masterclock USB which I think takes the Tinkerboard a good few steps beyond the Ultra Neo at a 1/4 of the price but glad the SOtM is working for you
  6. I had a similar issue with a highly modified Caiman SEG I think it was a software issue between the seg and the signature. Was in correspondence with Allo and tried to find solutions but in the end had to return. Hope you can find a solution but think a issue between the 2 devices. In my case it would not keep a lock on the signal.
  7. Cheers I have a very good custom built PSU but thanks for the thought
  8. At the moment they seem to be building their product base at quite a fast rate, so think more to come.
  9. I am pretty sure Allo would not miss the opportunity to upgrade that USB bridge to a Signature version. I have a few friends waiting for this. The Signature is a very different beast to the DiigiOne
  10. I know the USB bridge quite well and whilst I think it a bit better than the DigiOne, the Signature is in another league for sure. But for those wanting a USB output it might be better to wait a few months
  11. Just to let people know got the signature up and running I am feeding the dirty side with the supplied SMPS I might experiment later on as I have a spare battery I can use and could use a 12v to 5v dc converter Just need to find on with a USB C output or perhaps a adapter Sound wise it is a nice step up. The tonal colour is more richer, it gives more slam and micro detail. Both files and Spotify sound excellent. I need to come up with some way of powering them both up at the same time
  12. So both USB C inputs 5v being supplied to them
  13. I could get a 12v to 5v converter for the battery to power the pi I add another one for the dirty side Or even the SMPS I then use a 5v from my supercaped LPS to power the clean side I presume dirty side on input is left USB c and clean USB c on the right hand side?
  14. I just got the Signature I am a bit confused I got Volumio powering up and using the same Linear power unit to power my DAC that has extra 5v output but not getting any sound Do I need to power both USB C inputs or is their not enough power from the Supercap PSU I have a spare 12v battery that I could use but cannot find a cable USB C to battery I was using the DigOne and really like this player so I was hoping in hearing some good sounds tonight
  15. I am now using a Supercaped PSU that I got built by Tony from Coherent Audio which powers the Caiman DAC and Pi I also had the internals of the DAC heavily modified. Results were a increase in Sound quality that takes the system up to some very costly systems
