  1. Hi Peter I would like to participate. I have an A1, plus I am retired, so I have the time. thanks Herb Callands
  2. I increased my internet speed to 100mbps in hopes of solving the problem. I am still evaluating it. Just increased the speed this past weekend, so haven't had time to evaluate regards
  3. Hello All lately I have been experiencing what sounds like sporadic drop outs when playing music through either my NAS or Tidal. They are usually short in duration; from 3 to 7 seconds. I've owned my LUMIN for about 2 years now, and this is the first time I have had any hint of a problem with it. I use a LUMIN A-1, and it's connected to my home network via a standard Cat-6 cable. It's a long run from my family room to my listening room, just a little under a 100 feet. Anyone experience this problem who can offer advice on the problem and a solution. Thanks guys Herb
  4. The external Chord DAC is an excellent piece. I thought about going this route with the A1 just to experience a different sound, but haven't gotten around to it yet. LUMIN servers are excellent components in my opinion. Enjoy
  5. Hi, I purchased the D1 about two years ago, toyed around with an external power source, and eventually sold the D1 and external power source for the A1. I think the D1 sounds great. However, I couldn't do a side by side comparison as I sold the D1 and shipping it before purchasing the A1, but I can't say I heard a huge increase in fidelity. Obviously there is some, as the A1 is 3x the cost of the D1. The A1 is sexy in appearance, larger and has an external power source, a big plus in my decision to purchase it over the D1. Herb
  6. There has been much discussion about external DACs and the Lumin. I don't currently use an external DAC with my A1, and I love the music presentation I currently get out my A1, especially when streaming Tidal. I have ripped all my CDs to a network server, but rarely listen to them anymore. Can you recommend a DAC that would definitely improve the already tremendous sound quality I get from my A1?
  7. I am of the same belief with regards to my digital music. I thought about an external DAC, but those Wolfsons in the Lumin sound so good I don't see the need. I still maintain a fascination for all things vinyl however, and still collect vinyl and maintain two turntables.
  8. Congrats on a fine digital music server. I sold my SACD player as well; because, why bother?
  9. Go with the Lumin. You'll never look back. I own a Lumin A1 and it's a game changer. All my digital worries about "this server and that DAC" are over.
  10. I had a D1. Fantastic machine. I sold my high-end SACD after buying it and haven't looked back.
  11. I use Wireword Silver balanced cables and the supplied Lumin PSU with my A-1
  12. Yep, I know that's right. I have some on loan from a friend.
