  1. With the latest update, I can still see my chinese language albums, but now when I try to play them HQP says 'emptytransport'... :( that's most of my library now unplayable... Thanks in advance Ales!
  2. Quick question- I'm guessing since your music server is the only device on your music subnet, that means your switches connecting to your Extreme are outside that subnet. Why did you make this choice? Why not put the switches in the same subnet too?
  3. Thanks for the clarification! My router can do that too, but I don't have a spare router to put my server behind- maybe I'll try that next.
  4. PS- does this mean that all traffic from VLAN1 gets shared to VLAN2 (if this is where your hifi is)? May still get 'unwanted' signals going into VLAN2?
  5. That would indeed solve the problem, too! My method can work with probably all routers, though. And it’s a really simple change. Of course the downside is no internet access unlike your method...
  6. In a bid to try this without creating another VLAN or subnet (worried about control issues across networks), I went to my asus router and blocked internet access for my server (and my switch connecting that server to the router). I play only local files so this works for me. REALLY nice bump in SQ!
  7. Personally, I have waited for 16 months and I'm prepared to wait for another 16 months. I like that Paul is willing to open up my slot for others and refund me at any time if I so desire. That actually ensures I don't lose money, and I don't have to go through the hassle of posting on a forum and having to try and sell it myself. These products aren't for everyone. I value the customisation aspect of things (aka not scaleable), and hence am prepared to wait as a result. Also I can understand why, since they are customised, people can take over builds- this is not like all of us are getting the same product and someone just 'leapfrogged' us. But these are just my two cents!
  8. Interesting. Previously when I tried it sample rate follow did not work without rednet control open... is your Dante controller open?
  9. So sample rate follow works without Rednet Control running?
  10. Let me preface this post by saying I only listen to headphones (not speakers) and so the drivers are next to my ears and I hear way more than you’d typically detect with speakers. But to my ears the power supply to the Lps-1 makes a difference. One good change ive found it putting an ifi ac ipurifier before the Lps-1’s energiser, to the point that as I have three Lps-1 I now also have three ifi ac ipurifiers. I put the lps-1 on a separate power line from my audio gear to reduce the effect of the switching power leakage, and the chain now looks like this on the distributor: (First slot) ifi ac ipurifier -> Lps-1 Energizer -> ipurifier -> energizer-> ipurifier -> (last slot) Energizer) the sound is smoother and richer and has a quieter background overall. Cheers!
  11. The past few posts in particular have been rather distracting. Layout matters; shielding matters; impedance matters; and length of DC cable matters. In particular, the MSB Analog may or may not have an optimal circuit layout but not sure how this relates to the Ref10? Perhaps those interested in that component can open a thread to talk about it in exacting detail, with pictures and graphs and 1000 word essays... But I'm more interested in the Ref10
  12. Since we’re speculating I have a question and apologies if it’s been answered- but why did ref10 take a few years to make it from prototype to final product, in an obviously different form?
  13. I agree on discussing this on another thread. Besides, there's not much we can do to help. What we were doing was simply spec-ing out the models we want. I've seen SR7's with single rail, dual rail, and multi-rail. I've seen dual regulation (two rails for one output). I've seen a 9-19v rail, a 2-12v rail, and all manner in between (heat is the limiting factor). I've seen one trafo per rail, or one really huge trafo for all rails. We also got a choice of which output module to use (S, HD, EHD), and IEC sockets, DC wire leads, etc etc. You can even choose your own custom chassis, which I did. Really what made this product special was that it was a journey. It was a bespoke tailored suit, not off-the shelf (which also makes refunds extremely difficult because someone needs to want your exact build). And as everyone knows half the fun of a bespoke suit is that it's yours and yours alone and nobody has something *quite* like it. I imagine many of us have overlapping opinions, but we probably arrived at them in different ways. I've had a lot of fun exchanging many PMs with different people who had bought their own SR7, and also got advice from Paul over a great many emails. It's been a hoot! But then again I have so many toys to play with that I'm really patient with my audio purchases... As a product? I guess the real magic sauce lies in Paul's circuit and design, which we have no access to. Another thread is a good start; but Uptone could probably also contact Paul directly to ask if he wants to license his designs out for manufacture. He's done that in the past with other partners, though always with him fronting the business.
  14. Here you go: fob69 found it a good improvement over his modded tplinks.
