  1. First thing i would do, assuming it isn't already done, is make sure your speakers are properly positioned. The second thing i would look at would be room treatment. IMO these two things will easily make a bigger difference than anything else you can do.
  2. Here is where the money goes according to Spotify. Take 70% off the top and then pay for the stuff you mention above i can easily see how losses could be incurred.
  3. Just saw your post update. I updated the SOSE software to the newest version, rebooted both the SOSE and RoonServer. No playback issues but one thing i noticed is that Roon still shows 1.0.9 as the version number and the SOSE shows the RoonReady Version number as 1.0.11. I don't know if this matters or not but thought i would relay it. Highest DSD resloution in Roon for my NuPrime is showing DSD128 as well, though i belive you stated that was a limitation on that side. Thanks.
  4. I figured i was missing something and didn't realize it was a limitation with my DAC. I also want to add i have been very happy with the Sonic Orbiter. Thanks for the quick response. Will send you the email.
  5. Jesus - i have a question on the DSD256 playback on Roon. If i am reading your post correctly i should be able to select DSD256 in Roon for my DAC (NuPrime DAC10-H) via DoP. I updated my Sonic Orbiter and am now on version 2.1, Enable DSD-over-PCM is checked. I am also running the latest Roon build. When i go to the settings in Roon i do not see an option to select DSD256, just the 128. Roon also reports the version as 1.0.6, if that matters. Any suggestions or am i missing something?
  6. I think he was just pointing out the humor of the coincidence of your post and the advertisement at the top of his image.
  7. Here is part of the interview from TAS where Bob Stuart somewhat speaks to your questions:
  8. guess it would just be like the Aries Mini where the streaming devices are MQA certified for the Analog outputs but not the digital ones. Ugh. What a mess.
  9. I am not aware of any bluesound products that do not have a DAC. The streaming devices all have them any obviously the speakers would have to as well.
  10. I guess but i wish their response wouldn't have been predicated, imo, on the view that consumers are incapable of understanding. It doesn't seem that difficult to come of with two different certifications one for software and things like the Aries without a dac and one for hardware. Give it to marketing to think of a name for each. That gives you a way for Meridian, its partners, and dealers to up-sale/broaden the potential market while still allowing for compatibility with current systems. For example the basic MQA cert could be for the Aries or Roon or Tidal and allows users to use the wrapper to get better than 16/44 files streaming but MQA+ certification for hardware would also add X benefits of MQA. to enjoy the full benefit of MQA you have to buy a DAC, problem solved. It isn't a new concept.
  11. I just saw that. You are absolutely correct. Wow. That brings to mind the quote "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity". Does Meridian not list any minimum requirements in any of their agreements? How does Auralic show up in joint press materials and promotion and no one from Meridian has a freaking clue about their products? That is just crazy.
  12. How could Meridian not know? It isn't like it is an unreleased product kept under secrecy, its been out for well over a year and is clearly apparent on the Auralic website. There is no conceivable way this wasn't previously know.
