  1. Hi Does anyone know of a SPDIF to RCA adapter (my digital cable is SPDIF terminated and my DAC only has a RCA input)? Thanks
  2. Has anybody compared Locus to RDA USB, how would you rate the differences ?
  3. I need to use from 50 feet of length of cable between my Mac book Pro and my DAC (I currently use 30 feet of Cardas Neutral Reference in SPDIF format with RSA Enopias USB - works great with BelCanto 24/96 Link) so am planning on moving to USB to AES/EBU converter then 50feet of the AES/EBU Cardas Neutral etc. Is Empirical Audio the best USB to AES/EBU converter out there?.
  4. Hi, Can anyone advise the best audiophile FireWire cable I can buy for FireWire 800 plug to FireWire 800 (LaCie HD to Macbook). It needs to be 9 pin to 9 pin. Thanks

  6. Taken delivery a day ago of the first Enopias digital SPDIF interconnect ever made by Ridge Street Audio. I use is it to partner with the Enopias USB interconnect. Amazing sound, liquid, detailed, not bright yet very clean sounding with great bass definition.
  7. Quick one for those in the know, is the Mac Book Pro the best laptop CD player around ? Also what software add-on would be recommended if needed at all. I stream radio mostly but want to be able to play CDs from my desk though my system. Thanks
  8. As an update to the enclosed chain , took some of your advice and bought and tried the RSAD Poiema USB cable , and it was amazing, I today placed an order for the Enopias USB cable ( I use a 0.5m and 4.5m length). I also bought the Poiema 4.5m 75ohm digitial cable. I previously used Kimber silver. I would say the signature sound is smooth with detail, great bass definition and a very cohesive sound. And a mention about Robert Schult who owns and is RSAD, very aware helpful and sincere chap. Thanks to those with the prior input. http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/best-USB-cable-I-have-used-so-far
  9. For those who may be interested I have spent months buying USB cables, trying to find the most undigital sounding and relaxing. I have now been using and enjoying the below. http://www.russandrews.com/product.asp?lookup=1&region=UK&currency=GBP&pf_id=2802&customer_id=PAA1800077509982FLFPRFKUVQOXXOUT
  10. If I plan to buy a Mac laptop and only use as a music server (iTunes) and internet radio can you recommend the best to go for irrespective of price (it needs to be a laptop as I am using it in different installations). Also, dim question is there any software that makes the Mac rip a CD faster when doing lossless.
  11. Thanks everyone for all your input , I will relook at Mac but also can any of you recommend a 'quiet' laptop make etc, thanks for the input on the Dell
  12. Hi everyone , my first post and I like this site allot, I used to be pure hifi components but in the last 6 months I have moved most of my system on. I now use a dac driving power amplifiers into electrostatic speakers. My question is I currently use a 5 year old dell D600 to to play CDs and stream internet radio through a SPDIF converter into my dac. What is the best audiophile computer on the market to hold iTunes library and stream digital radio ? or does it not make much difference. Is the Toshiba Qosmio the best. I would prefer not buying a Mac as I am just used to windows etc. Thanks for any input.
