Several years ago, in desperation, I sought out one of the top ENT doctors on the East Coast for problems similar to yours. When he said there was no cure, I asked if hearing aids would help. He said no, there was no existing technology, including cochlear implants that would provide the hearing acuity that would satisfy an audiophile. I contacted him again a few months ago to learn if technology now offered any new options. He said no. I have found the best option is very high quality headphones. For me, they offer good SQ without constantly reminding me of my hearing loss the way speakers do. On the other hand, I will be watching this thread in case a miracle surfaces. You are not alone!

I get what Roon is about too, but a complex commercial app without any user documentation or built-in help is rather pathetic. And no, an online forum is not a substitute for documentation. In my case, Roon does nothing but add another layer of complexity to my setup.

I assume you have a backup? Restore your iTunes Library. I learned my lesson and no longer let my music get anywhere near iTunes or iCloud.

I just tried Ari's service for the first time and he exceeded my expectations in every way. A five day turnaround time from the East Coast using USPS, and the files are flawless with perfect organization and metatagging. I have now had a chance to compare most of the ripped DSD files to the original disks. Comparing playback of the originals on a Sony scd-777es thru the Oppo HA-1 to the DSD files played through Audivana Plus 2.2 into the Oppo HA-1, I could detect absolutely no audible difference. I give Golden Ear Digital the highest possible recommendation!

Maybe, but it is damn difficult to be specific with no details to go on. How about this. If in doubt, don't waste your money.
