  1. Allow me to reopen this thread I have following situation. After buying a PONO player I have bought quite a few HD tracks in 192/24 flac. When playing them on the PONO with headphones it sounds great. When playing them from the PONO via a normal stereo 3.5mm cable it sounds simply ok, when playing the PONO across balanced XLRs into a high end chain (KRELL ->Wilson Puppies), it beats the shit out of an Wadia 860x. So connecting the PONO in the car via normal cables does not really give me much as my car amp does not have balanced XLR input, and also with the too small user interface. So now I have a Android 8 inch tablet, on which I have 64GB of music including a number of 192/24 HD tracks. I've connected it to a Alpine headunit via Bluetooth, and funny enough, when playing the HD tracks using DEAbeef (which plays the 192/24 flacs) I can definitely hear a difference. The car is extremly quiet (old Bentley) and the amp and speakers are Dynaudio and Becker Energy, so a good chain. This is where I need help from someone in the know. 1. I am looking for a good android player that has a nice GUI (deadbeef is really shitty) 2. Does the App send the signal to the Headunit via BT in a digital stream, ie in full 192 format. I assume it does, as its digital, but am just checking. 3. This would mean that upgrading my headunit to a 24 bit Alpine device would help improve the sound, as the DAC does the conversion to analog in the headunit. Can someone comment on this. My current head unit does not do 24 bit, as far as I can make out.
