  1. I don't play DSD files, but a quick google search returned some results that Roon can handle them, I highly recommend trying the free trial of Roon to check and see how it handles the DSDs. I have used Amarra, Fidelia, and Audirvana and Roon absolutely blows them away, it's my favorite music innovation perhaps ever. I may sound like a Roon shill, but I have zero affiliation with the company other than trying and loving their product.
  2. It didn't work to set it up with the wireless keyboard. I couldn't get the mac mini to recognize the bluetooth keyboard. I used my HDTV as the monitor for set up. I went across the street and bought a cheap wired keyboard, used it to set up the mini, and then returned it the next day. Once it's set up, just turn on screen sharing on the mini, and you can control it from the imac, or any other macs you'd like to use. I am using Roon to play the music on the mini, which I can easily control from another device (I can control Roon from my ipad, mac notebooks, or imac). But if you didn't want to invest in Roon for this, you could just use the mac's screensharing feature to play your music from the imac. I have to say, I absolutely love my setup, it's amazing.
  3. ha - i had no idea you could use screensharing like that on macs, that's amazing. and that's the best solution for what I am trying to do by far. thanks!
  4. Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a question, couldn't find the answer via search, and figured someone here would have an answer. I am replacing a MacBook Pro which has been my music server, with a 2012 mac mini. I am going to connect the Mini to my TV via HDMI. I have a wireless apple keyboard and mouse that I use on an iMac. I also have an iPad. I would like to download music and whatnot directly to my mac mini, which will require controlling the mini, and don't want to buy another wireless apple keyboard and mouse, or a wired keyboard, to use with the mini. I will only use it from time to time when I want to download something. I use the wireless keyboard and mouse all the time with the iMac. Is it easy to switch which computer the keyboard and trackpad are paired with? Is it easier to just use the iPad and do something like Splashtop? Is there a better iPad app to use? Anyone have an excellent/elegant solution for this scenario? Any experience with any of these scenarios would be appreciated.
