Yep - the pause issue seems to have been fixed - nice work Rob. Now it's just Integer mode :-) James
  2. Thanks - 1.23 seems to have cured the crashing and the memory leak so thats good. James
  3. Sid - where do i find the crash log ? James
  4. Does anyone else's crash ?. Works fine until i leave it for a couple of hours paused, come back and no sound - check the computer and PM has crashed :-(. James
  5. Deho - i have the same problem. Cured in last version (1.30) of PV i had but i've been using PM for the last week or so and now the latest 1.2 gives me track pausing problems - although PM thinks its playing but nothing comes out. Shame as its the best version yet - SQ is superb. James
  6. I bought it - £130 it's a no brainer to run alongside Amarra until Sonic move the game on. James
  7. Lets hope so Lars - Very suprised at the results with PV as i thought Amarra would walk it. IMHO the latest version of Amarra is the best sounding yet, but PV is really rather good and certainly in my system is bettering Amarra at the moment - looking forward to the next release of Amarra :-) James
  8. Politics aside, i've downloaded PV and have been playing with it since last night. Ok not so intuitive as Amarra but up and running in less than 2 minutes with none of the issues you had Clay. It's certainly very good and as a user of full Amarra i think Sonic have got some work to do. Both are a big improvement on plain iTunes but PV seems to sound less processed than Amarra. More listening to do but for the money PV seems to be very good. James
  9. I'd agree - after the initial listen which sounded quite impressive, i didn't find myself listening into the small hours as usual. It didnt grab me musically like the previous version and i thought about going back to 1.02. Before i did this i downloaded the latest update to iTunes 9 and all was better again so this configuration is now fixed unless something significant comes up. With Amarra version from 3145 on, i've not always found an improvement with each change (3162 being a least favourite). James
  10. Downloaded it a few hours ago - works well. Sounds better then 1.02 too. James

    Amarra Issues

I've got the same sort of problems - now running iTunes 9 with Snow Leopard and Amarra 3177. Since changing to SL i've had Amarra just quit for no reason - with Leopard and 3177 no issues. Others are as above - it'll go onto a new track, no sound and then about 10 seconds later it starts playing. Other times no sound until i've selected another track from another album. I'm very pleased with what Amarra does for SQ - but not quite so happy that at this stage its still rather buggy. Sonic were very helpful when i had early problems with Amarra (remote login from Jon) but there seems to be a lack of information coming out on new releases, bug fixes etc. Other than that, Amarra and Weiss is an awesome combination. Amarra

I just thought i'd add my comments to this thread. I've got a full version of Amarra on loan to try out. Usual system is a mac mini, Weiss Dac 2 into a naim 282/250 system. Apart from an issue with the software running in demo mode as it thinks my Dac 2 isn't approved so it mutes at various times i think its a real step up over iTunes. I've only really had the chance to listen for an hour or two tonight but i'm really suprised how more detail this software brings out, music has much more verve and drive too. Whatever Amarra is doing it's certainly doing it right - very impressed so far. James
  15. Yep - thats all you need to do. It'll boot without keyboard etc. I set mine up by plugging it in in place of my main Powermac, set up screen sharing, installed iTunes, disabled bluetooth and wireless (it runs wired). Connected my main Mac back up, plugged the mini in to a spare port on my switch and booted it back up. Ran 'Chicken of the VNC' on the main Mac and there it was. Find the NAS, set core Audio and run up iTunes and its all ready to go. Mine is set to sleep overnight and if not used for an hour. The remote app for iTunes control wakes it up without any problems. Good luck James
