Hi Jussi, Long-time 3.XX user and trying the trial of 4. I have Windows 10 PC with Mytek Liberty DAC and Roon. I have been running 3.00, but need some help setting up 4.00 so I can evaluate and possibly purchase. So far, I cannot seem to get Roon and HQ Player 4 working together. I am not getting sound at all. Here are the relevant screenshots:

Miska, spoke too soon. The file I was playing through Roon was a 44.1 file that played DSD256. It seems weird, but when I played a 88.2 file, it played fine, but now I cannot play any 96khz or 192khz files. It shows them playing in Roon when I click on the signal path, but in HQP, although it shows Roon and the play button is lit, HQP is kind of flickering in the top left corner.

Hi Miska, I did so and rebooted HQP - now it works! Thanks so much for the fast support?

Hi Miska, I did so and it did allow me to choose SDM in the main window, but it is still not upsampling DSD - just to 384 PCM. The setting on the left next to where I selected "SDM" is set to "Auto" - when I try to select in that window, I only get PCM settings (44.1, 88.2, etc)

Hi All, I was using Pro-ject S2 DAC, but just bought a new one: IFI Nano black. It has DSD capabilities, but I can't get HQP to do DSD, best output I could get is 384 PCM. The four settings on the main page are grayed out (sample settings, etc) and nothing I could do in settings would change it. Note that I CAN play through HQP, but not DSD. Here are my settings:

This is my second request for assistance - I am a paid user, so I would like a reply from Miska. I found my key through researching the website - no help from you, although I posted here AND sent an email. However, I am still having a problem in HQ Player, even though I uninstalled the previous version and reinstalled the latest. HQ Player comes up fine and the main page looks okay, but when I try to go into settings, I have a tiny unreadable box in ALL of the settings. My TV resolution is 4096 X 2160 and I am using Windows 10 on a PC. I can barely get the settings box readable if I go all of the way down to 720 X 480, but I should not have to do that. I do have scaling turned on. Please help me with this. I have done all that I can think of doing. Thanks!

Miska, I have had HQ Player for a couple of years and want to install the latest version, but it says I need my key. I don't have the original email with my key on it. How do I obtain the key so I can reinstall? Thanks!

I just bought a Pro-ject S2 DAC and am setting it up now via USB on a Windows 10 PC. I have a couple questions. I want to upsample everything to DSD, but not exactly sure what settings I need in HQ Player. I tried using the same settings that I used with my Marantz HD-DAC1, but am only getting 384khz PCM. If anyone has setup one of these DAC's in Windows 10 with ROON and HQ Player, I sure would appreciate your advice. In addition, when I bring up HQ Player on my UHD TV, the settings box is very tiny and unreadable. I can only read it when I reduce the resolution. Any advice? Thanks a lot for any help!

Add me to the list of people running the latest update to Windows 10 and the latest HQPlayer (3.163) crashes on me. I have not changed anything at all on my system since before the Windows update.
-
Well, I didn't mean you could ignore me completely! Have you had a chance to look at my log yet? Thanks! John Hill
-
Hi Miska, You can ignore my PM - I sent you the log file to [email protected]. Thanks! John Hill

Well, I need to have a little more help. The log file is enabled, but I cannot seem to find it. HQPlayer was working fine until I installed the latest update. In addition, I have tried every parameter under settings to get it to play, but I still get the same error message, no matter what. I thought that you could look at the settings I put up in my first post and give me some advice, seeing that you are the developer and have the same DAC that I have.

I have kind of a strange problem that I haven't had before. I have been using HQPlayer with Windows 10 for a while and have had it working with and without Roon. I installed the latest version of HQPlayer, (3.13) had to redo my settings and now I can't get it to work. I have a Marantz HD-DAC1 and now when I click on any music file, HQPlayer just says "Please wait" in a little box that appears to be loading something, but it never stops. When I click on anything in HQPlayer, I get a little chime sound, but nothing works.....when I X out of the little box and click on any music file, I get the box again. I have gone in to the settings and changed it to different ones in the hope that I can get something that works, but get nothing. I normally use it with Roon upsampling 44.1 to DSD 5.6, but now HQPlayer doesn't even run by itself. Any ideas to get me started on troubleshooting? Screenshots below.

Hi all, Miska made the following comment on the HQPlayer forum: "Please use the output straight from HQPlayer instead of routing it through network back to the same machine" How do I do that? I am using HQPlayer and NOT on a networked PC. I added HQPlayer in the networked device and it works, but Miska says it works better running the output directly and I couldn't figure out how to do that in Roon setup. I have a USB DAC (Marantz HD-DAC1) and a USB 3.0 Drobo 5d with all of my music files on it, using Windows 10.
