  1. Also there's another problem, as it seems I can't make SongCast output sound if I select it from HostingAU as an output source. If the SongCast virtual device is not selected in OSX control panel output device, it will shut down the stream to network, even if I select it from HostingAU as an output device. This way I can't add EQ to the sound, and considering it's only 24/44.1 ... just makes it worthless for me.
  2. Sadly SongCast only sends 24 bit /44.1KHz to the raspberry. I did make it work via WiFi, on it's crappy jack output so far. I don't know if it's worth getting the spdif shield at the moment. I need to find a good software.
  3. That looks like a nice bit of gear but I'm not shelling out that much cash
  4. This sounds good! I just took out my Raspberry from the monkey box and am trying to install the base system. I'll update if it goes well. Already installed the software on my laptop and indeed it created a new sound interface. I don't yet have a spdif output add-on board for the Pi but I'll try with it's audio output jack for proof of concept. Hope those things can output 24/96. It would be a dream if it worked (and on the cheap side as well).
  5. Hello, I just finished my custom BLH fullrange speakers and now I'm looking at stepping into the 21 century with my music. Basically all my music comes from my laptop, either ripped cds, internet radio, or browser based audio. Since I move around my house a lot during the day with my laptop, I need a solution that can send all my audio from my laptop to my amp via WiFi. I also have a DAC so I'd prefer something that can output 24/96 via optical or rca spdif. Also I have another limit, since I do digital EQ from my laptop (Macbook) using Hosting AU and Soundflower, I need something that installs as an Audio Output device in the OSX control panel. So far the only solution that I found that would technically work is an AppleTV but that limits the output to my DAC to 16/44.1 (or 48KHz, don't know for sure). Is there any decent solution without an "Audiophile" price tag? There's this guy that managed to send spdif signal through a NTSC wireless tx/rx system but it's limited to about 2 meters and I need to have that attached to my laptop: $12 wireless lossless digital audio Raspberry PI with a digital audio shield came to mind but I don't know what software can manage what I need.
