  1. What I posited already is fairly clear. Apple is a corporation that likes to make money. The more products they sell, the more money they make. The more reasons Apple can give you to upgrade your device, the more products they sell. Follow me? I already punched in my thoughts on this, I'm not a developer so I could be wrong in my hypothesis, but it makes sense to me. Which devices are currently supported by the latest OS doesn't effect me, as I have a new device. PS, thanks for the welcoming
  2. I'm usually more tactful but I'm gonna point out Dave, that you shouldn't be calling BS on something if you don't actually know the answer (or in this case the question?). The blurred effect is part of the OS as stated: Mastering blur and vibrancy with iOS 8 — Applidium Of course it's hardware dependent. The question was whether the app or the OS decides if the blur will display. To restate my point: the app has nothing to do with it as the coding is built into the OS. Apple is the master of obsolescence.
  3. I doubt it is in the code of the software itself. More likely it's in Apple's iOS coding and just another trick apple uses to get people to want to upgrade (not that this feature alone is enough to upgrade, but Apple at the forefront of planned obsolescence of older hardware). Actually, I didn't notice what you were talking about until I opened up a couple different albums with multicolored backgrounds. It's barely noticeable on my brand new iPad air 2. I bought this ipad for this app and it was worth it. I emailed Audirvana support beforehand, asking if they will be supporting android, but they informed me not for some time. I do prefer android phones, but this ipad has 2gb ram (finally a basic minimum amount has been implemented) and it's faster than my note 3 on geekbench (Wow!). This app is incredibly robust, it's a monster. It hasn't crashed once with tigabytes of music. In album view you can pinch zoom out to see hundreds of albums at once. For an initial release they made sure this app is stable and feature intensive. Speaking of apps, I tried the itunes remote and it crashed after only a few minutes. 2 whole stars for a rating sounds about right. I appreciate everyone's reviews in this thread as it helped my decision on getting the ipad vs an android tablet and running retune (which is a good app) but I'd rather keep itunes out of the picture (completely!) as I've invested a fair bit of coin into my setups and don't want to sacrifice in quality as it's already such a humungous convenience to get near CD quality sound from my computer with tigabits of data running through my chain of components all the way to my speakers. Damn sweet!!
