  1. Will the 15v version be OK for a device requiring 15V/1A?
  2. I posted in the iFi sub-forum which seems like the most approximate place for a thread about an iFi product... ...it's always good to search for the appropriate sub-forum and see what sub-forums exists before posting threads in the wrong place
  3. I have had mine for about a week or so but have been mega busy so I have not had time to report back...I'll post a few words later
  4. Hey iFi / all, I have a couple of the new 9v iPower Adapters. One that came with the iUSB3.0 and one that I bought separately. Both emit a constant very high pitch noise! It is quite noticeable and quite annoying! Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal? Guy
  5. When I set this up tonight I will try powering the Raspberry Pi using the power output of extra set of USB outputs so I can compare it to the linear power supply that is currently powering it. I was thinking though - the Pi will be supplying the USB signal to the iUSB which is also then providing the Pi with power in order for it to be able to send the USB signal to the iUSB... Do you think it is a bit like crossing the streams and the world will enter into an infinite loop and end in an instance Guy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Looks what's just arrived Thanks iFi, your awesome! Can't wait to get home to try it out Guy
  7. Thanks, great response. I'll probably buy one to test it and let you all know how I get on Guy
  8. I use these: http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/equipment-supports-cleaning-more/642-oyaide-mwa-rc-magnetic-wave-absorbers.html
  9. Oh, and I am not sure when the iUSB3.0 is arriving. I sent the PMs to iFi after winning so I assume it's on the way Can't wait
  10. I am using an iUSB, Gemini Dual USB Cable and an iDAC2 with a Raspberry Pi running RuneAudio as a DLNA render using a Synology NAS and their AudioStation apps. The iDAC2 is connected to my big Japanese battleship amp, a Denon PMA-2000ae, and sound amazing. Very impressed with the Raspberry Pi. Had a Mac Mini with a linear power supply before running Audirvana and the Pi and the Synology is a much better solution. Guy
  11. Slippers-on - have you used the auto off feature yet - what's it do?
  12. I am really looking forward to mine arriving! With regards to the 'noise' thing - I was just interested in what people thought
  13. Me, no not yet. I am waiting for mine to arrive from iFi
  14. Yes I know, which is why people buy expensive linear power supplies, custom USB cards, SATA noise filters, and so on, to reduce that noise. I was wondering if all of the tweaking would be necessary when using the iUSB3.0 as the data is taken and completely regenerated and cleaned. If so then removing all that noise within the computer no longer matters as it is done further down the chain. Or does it?
  15. Also, those that have one already, how does the auto power on/off function work? Is it on when the computer is powered, off otherwise. Or is it based on whether there is an audio signal present. I take it that the DAC is also powered down if it is USB powered? I guess I could just wait to receive mine from iFi but I am changing a few things around before it arrives so wanted to know Guy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
