  1. Anyone knows wether all these filters and upsampling features works when using the Aries (with beta firmware 5.0) as a Roon endpoint...
  2. Yeah i have the Chord 2Qute. It can output 352.8 just fine as i have succes upsampling to this frequency using Roon. To be more exact using the beta firmware i am unable to upsample to any other frequency then the original input frequency.
  3. Have you guys successfully upscaled 44khz to, for example, 352 kHz? For some reason its not working for me.
  4. You missed that one big bug a few beta's back that accidentally bricked Aries units that updated through ethernet cable instead of WiFi? After that I had to get my unit replaced (perfect service from mister Wang and WifiMedia though), and became very skeptical about these beta's.
  5. It is called a beta for a reason. Do not try this beta if you can't live with the possibility of losing a stable audio platform.
  6. I have the exact same problem with my Aries after installing the beta5 firmware though ethernet cable. Just got word from Auralic that the unit is going to have to be replaced. So this is really not good news as they are unable to fix this issue by pushing any new firmware to the unit or perform a hard reset so that it can roll back to the last stable release.
  7. I have had it "break in" 24/7 with the Tellurium Q System Restore cd. After 4/5 days i couldn't notice any change in sound. However I am a bit sceptical about this "breaking in" stuff. I also think that getting used to the sound is key.
  8. What Primaluna do you have there, and do you like it? I am gaining more and more interest in a tube from the Dutch manufacturer. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-N9005 met Tapatalk
  9. Hello Slavo, With the new firmware the cover art is handled differently when using LightningServer. When using the DLNA server form a NAS having a folder.jpg stored in the folder still works fine. But again when using the LightningServer with firmware 2.8 only the album art is shown from the files that have the art embedded. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-N9005 met Tapatalk
  10. Yesterday I noticed allot of my album art not showing properly. I also noticed that the Aries had updated to version 2.8. I use a network drive in combination with LightningServer. After some fiddling I found out why for some albums art was showing and why for some none were showing. It seems that with 2.8 you need to embed the album art within the tags of the audio file otherwise it won't show. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-N9005 met Tapatalk
  11. I am glad you have found the same cutoff in your set. I actually timed the cutoff and it's about 1 to 1.5 seconds. Funny how it appears to be way longer. That's a coincidence... my Android apps started to continously crash since yesterday evening. The only thing I have done is clearing the cache on all my library's except the LightningServer. Btw Chris from AURALiC reported this "bug" and he said that it's likely to be fixed with the next firmware update. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-N9005 met Tapatalk
  12. No I have not, but I have experimented with it to no result. I find it weird that you can't replicate this issue though. Chris Morris from AURALiC tested it with a Hugo (the DAC part is identical) and he confirmed the same issue. Just to clarify: I am talking about the playback of .dsf files, with DoP enabled. I play them through LightningServer or Twonky. When manually selecting a track the first 3 seconds are inaudible. The 2Qute first emits the green 176 kHz light and then switches to the white DSD light. This takes like 2 seconds and then sound is audible. This also happens when pause/play'ing the DSD track.
  13. I use my Aries in combination with a Chord 2Qute DAC. The thing that is annoying me is the delay in music when playing DSD files. The Chord DAC needs a second to recognize it´s being fed a DSD signal and therefore the first few seconds of each DSD track are skipped. I would really like the option to play x seconds of DSD silence before streaming the DSD file. JRiver has this option and it works great.
