  1. Perfect! That worked, thank you. Where the hell did you learn all this stuff?!
  2. Hiya, Good tip for checking the artwork thank you. Here is the error screenshot. XLD encodes right to the end and then drops this...
  3. Well they play on the Pioneer from the NAS! As you say, some tracks in a single folder don't display artwork while others do. How do I fix that? I also have some files that XLD reports errors with in conversion. They play fine in iTunes on my Mac though. Any ideas please? thanks, Rich
  4. Hi, Thanks for that. If I 'Open Folder as Disc...' I can see the artwork for sure. If I look at each individual FLAC file in the Finder I can't. Using 'Get Info' on each FLAC also fails to reveal artwork. I guess the proof of the pudding will be transferring a test folder of music to my NAS and then trying it on the Pioneer player itself. Thanks for that pointer though. Hopefully it will work. Rich
  5. Hi guys, sorry to butt in on this thread but it is so close to my problem and I desperately need a resolution. I have a whole load of hi-res music in ALAC format either converted from FLAC or ripped from CD via XLD. I bought a Sony portable player to play some of these files through my home hi-fi but it has limited capacity and stumbles on some. I then bought a new Pioneer n-70A network player and a Synology DS214Play NAS. The Pioneer App is truly appalling, the Synology NAS has an iTunes server that doesn't work well and the Pioneer player does not support ALAC files at above 96KHz I believe. So, in order to get love from my Pioneer and NAS I am painstakingly converting my ALACs to FLACs using XLD. It works fine but it won't add the artwork. This appears in the icons for each ALAC track so I guess they're embedded images? If I'm going to convert all my music to be playable on the Pioneer then I really would like my album artwork too. Every track in my iTunes collection has it and it took me a long while to get it all together. So can someone please tell me how to do this? I have changed my XLD preferences as instructed here but to no avail. I just wish Pioneer would support very hi-res ALAC files and do something about their awful App. I have used an Arcam App as a controller and it is infinitely better than the native Pioneer one. Thanks for any helpful advice. Rich
