  1. I'll look at the spotify location soon and I'll tell that, I understand wrong I'm sorry.
  2. Open Regedit like cmd. Find winlogon than shell. Write bat or exe file with location near Explorer.exe with an "," Like = explorer.exe, C:\spotifyjremote.bat Key: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Entry Name: Shell Value: Explorer.exe, explorer.exe
  3. Inside spotify, open settings, there is an option of "open spotify on startup" or something like that. You can disable that. My setup is similar but I use AO with 2012 and on minimal server mode. Spotify and jriver both starts on startup with a .bat file and there is no problem in switching between them. Maybe the problem starts on core mode, I don't know.
  4. Whenever you buy a new product like cables, your mind and all your senses will open with your ears to undertand the difference in music. You are far away from listening to music, this is the illness of being audiophile. You quit listening to music and enjoying it, its far away from enjoying, just listen to what you hear, what changed. After some time passed and you forget how much money you spend to that cable, and you forget the music you had listened before that cable come to your system, than the burning process finishes. Your system begins to play some music and you enjoy it. Human ability of hearing can be change time to time. After a hard working day you hear different, or sleeping well and make your breakfast and after that your hear different. Don't get me wrong, I'm also subjectivist, I can hear the differences of usb cables and much more in my system. I also believe that cables have burn-in times. Because I like this hobby this way and I want to buy new stuff and feel the differences. Is there any changes in music after burn-in. I think yes there is...
  5. I've read about sound quality improvement on jriver 22. I don't know anything about Sox. I also don't use upsampling. If anyone tries it, please tell us your impressions about sound quality. In AO 2.0, the bass sound improvement is very obvious on my system and I'm very happy with that.
  6. I use the tv for monitoring mac mini music server. If I want to change the SS or DF, I close the tv, sit on my couch on sweet spot, close all of the lights and take my wireless keyboard and put it on my knees. You have to memorise the comments and the time of the computers responce to the comments. Thats the best way IMHO of changing them and hear the difference at that moment.
  7. Sound signature change the characteristic of upper frequencies and micro details on my system. If I choose Sound Signature 1, I can hear the micro details much better much clear but just for short listening periods. If I choose 2, the sound softenes a little but they both hurt my ear for long time listening sessions. Thats because I choose 4 and now I really like this sound for very long listening sessions. Very easy listening system and the micro details are all there, not very crisp and sharp at first but I can hear them more and more in my listening session I using Digital Filter D. I'm happy with this sound and I don't want to listen A to X to decide. While using filters, it's hard to understand which one is better on short listening sessions. It's better choose one and listen for some time. Choosing 1A gives very sharp sound which I don't like. 2D gives sharp but clear sound. 4D gives soft but detailed sound on my system and it's better for my ears. Regards
  8. Thanks for your answer. I'll try soon if I can make it work in my computer. I want to write my experience on upgrading AO 1.4 to AO 2.0. First of all I want to thank Phil for his hard work on AO while making this upgrade because he made it not only for windows 10, he also made this for windows server 2012 server users too. Upgrading was so easy for me, just run the setup and hear the improvement. I don't know how to explain the change in correct words because of my poor english but I can give an example; The difference is like 1080p HD video and 4K video. It was 1080p before and now its between 1080p and 4K. (Maybe Phil want to work some to make it 4K, thats because I don't say 4K) The instruments seperation is better. Micro details are better and they are not artificial or irritatingly much. They are more musical and audible. Bass sounds are very different from 1.4 and in a good way. They are tight and organised. (I can't find the right words for them) My Soundstage was very big because of speaker replacement on my system and with 2.0 it becomes a little bit bigger but not much. On 1.4, I didn't like the digital filters and I used X/X(windows default) but with 2.0 I'm using 2/D and find this filter much dynamic and not irritating as on 1.4. The Clarity is much better and it is not artificial. I never like my speakers mid-range sound and with 2.0, the mid-range sounds a little bit low not much but a little low for my system, especially for vocal sounds. In my soundstage, vocals are a little bit on behind the cymbals... But in general, the music is very balanced. I'm satisfied with the results with AO 2.0. I congratulate and thank Phil for this upgrade, this is the cheapest and best upgrade for my system... Regards Tugsay Kulaksiz
  9. Thank you. There are sub directories to choose and I think I should try the ones under win8.1 folder I tried to use win 2012 server r2 in core-mode once on my mac mini but I couldn't success. Lots of errors occured and neither me nor Phil could solve them. I'm now afraid of trying again and I really can't decide if core-mode worth this kind of risky trying because minimal server mode is also playing really nice. Being an audiophile and giving just an afford, not money, pushes me to take this kind of risk. I did it once and I failed. What do you think, is worth to try again? Core-mode vs Minimal server mode, should I take the risk of installing everything from the beginning? Is it really playing better than minimal-server mode or just a little difference if anyone can hear. (If there is little difference, it's worth to try) )) Is there any CA member who can help me with the sound quality of core mode vs minimal server mode?
  10. I'll write my impressions about AO 2.0 vs 1.4 on mac mini music server soon. I need some time to listen more but for now, I can tell that they are totally different and 2.0 has good improvements. I also use Schiit Gungnir Dac and I can't success on installing asio driver. I want to try installing it again because I want to listen in core-mode. When I open the cmedia zip file for asio driver, there are sub directories like win7, win8, win8.1 and I really don't know which sub directory should I choose to install the right driver for Win 2012 server R2 on a mac mini.
  11. What if everybody waits for others :-) I'll upgrade soon... I'm very curious... I hope everything will be the same without sound quality otherwise it becomes nightmare for me to install something on a win server.
  12. Hi Phil , I'm using win2012 server R2 with AO 1.4 in minimal server mode on my mac mini. I don't like to use the filters and thats because I use the ones for windows default. Do you recommend the upgrade 2.0 for a user like me for a better sound quality? Will be there any difference in sound quality if I use the default filters again? Are the significant changes in filters or the opimizer itself? Thanks
