  1. View Classified Resonessence Labs Mirus Pro Signature series Selling a Resonessence Invicta Mirus Signature DAC in perfect condition. This unit has been very well cared for and supplied with the original packaging and remote control. In august 2019 the Mirus was upgraded to the Signature series. The DAC never failed on me apart from a display issue that turned out to be a loose contact that is repaired by a professional repair service. Shipping within the EU only. Seller Pablooo Date 12/18/22 Price 2,600.00 USD Category Digital to Analog Converters
  2. I have a Mirus Pro Signature in perfect condition. I am considering selling the unit. I know it doesn't answer your question but maybe it's something you want to consider.
  3. I once contacted Hans Looman of Infigo Audio (http://infigoaudio.com/page/about/). He wanted to start a repair service for Resonessence devices, but unfortunately the partner who was supposed to do that, has passed away. He has placed me on a list of Resonessance owners though. In the event the repair service will start in the future, he will let those people know on the list. I have also upgraded my Mirus to the Signature pro. I am very happy with the sound and - lucky me - have never had any problems with it. I just like the idea of having a repair service on hand. I hope you will have your device fixed!
  4. Interesting! From what I understand there are 2 different ways to reduce vibration in equipment and cables: coupling and decoupling. I have had better results with coupling. I use the Darkz from Ansuz (they call this mechanical grounding). They also use the same principle in the housing of their (upper tier) power strip. Unfortunately, the latter are not freely available in the market, although I doubt whether they would be suitable for mounting a motherboard since the mounting height is standardized. But perhaps results can be achieved by simply untightening the screws of the mobo, usb and nic. Worth trying.
  5. I never actually share experiences about sound quality, but thought it was time to get started. Firstly to contribute to this forum (I'm a long time lurker) and secondly to help Euphony get better (I assume Željko reads this forum too 😊). I have been playing with Euphony for almost 2 years now. The various updates brought some extra functionality, the sound quality remained more or less the same for me. Until update 216 appeared, it really sounded a lot less like others also experienced here. I recognized the glassy digital sound that some described. At the time I decided to go back to version 108 and have been very satisfied with the sound ever since. I was happy to see a new update arived that may well combine both sound quality and new functionality. I finally found the time to do the update yesterday. My expectations were not high because I had already read mixed experiences here. My first reaction was that it seemed like a new power cord had been added to my system. This often gives a diffuse stereo image and lack of bass initially until the cable is fully burned in. As a test I always play Mark Knopflers Speedway at Nazareth. I know this number very well and it has helped me evaluate my system over the past 20 years. All kinds of things happen in the second half of the song, where I listen carefully for the bass extension with the big drums that reach deep without losing the articulation. The latter is not a problem in 421 but the bass seems to have losing a full octave. It makes the music less exciting and somewhat flat. The stereo image also seemed to shift, it is not balanced. As if certain instruments or frequencies were more amplified than usual. The holographic image is also less than version 108, where the latter sounds like putting an SR fuse in the dac, version 421 sounds like the standard fuse. After a few hours of listening I went back to version 108, the decline in sq does not outweigh the extra functions such as irq management in my opinion. So, there it is, my first sq evaluation write up. For now I will wait patiently for the next update 😊

  9. I am trying to understand where to place this power supply in terms of quality. Is the aim to match or improve the Optimo 3 with regard to the 5v lines that, for example, feed the Jcat usb and net cards? I read that it will beat all competition, does that include your own Optimo 3 (which is not comparable in terms of functionality of course)?
  10. I would find that a bit of a strange proposition. The ATX power supply will have a separate circuit for the 5v lines. In order not to make them obsolete from the beginning, they should have at least the same quality as the Optimo 3 in my opinion. I realize I am off topic here and will ask my questions in the appropriate thread. To be continued 🙂
  11. You might want to wait for the ATX power supply that Jcat has in development. I have no experience with their power supplies, but if it is just as good as the other components that Jcat supplies, I am confident it can compete with the best in the market
  12. I recently built a new server based on a Gigabyte Aorus Master B550. This mobo has 3 pcie slots, 1 x16 which goes directly to the CPU and 2 other that runs via the B550 chipset. From a theoretical approach I figured the Jcat usb XE had to be plugged into the pcie x16. However, the server would not boot with the card in this slot, so I was forced to choose a different slot. After trying all the settings in BIOS (thanks for the help @Marcin_gps) I finally decided to update the BIOS. And that worked, the x16 slot accepts the XE card now! And things changed... What I hear now is hard to describe. It's all so realistic, more micro dynamics, stereo image wider, deeper and higher. And all those details, wow! There are people on this forum who have a much greater talent for describing sound quality so I'll leave it at that. But if you have this mobo or something similar, try the usb card in this slot! I never expected it to make such a big difference.
  13. I have 120 hours on the Jcat USB XE now and it's really starting to open up. Lots of ambient information and the lower bass has never sounded this good. Stereo image seems also improved compared to the Femto card. Very happy so far! 😊
  14. I agree! Sometimes things have to be put into perspective, there are worse things in the world than a delayed delivery of a USB card 😇 On the other hand, Jcat could make communication about the delivery more reliable. There will be good explanations for all delays. But every time one occurs, a customer has to inquire about the revised shipping date. That is annoying and gives me the feeling that things are not in control.
