  1. Is it normal that if I touch the Aries is always a bit warm, even during sleep status?
  2. Other 2 questions... - I'm using Minimserver on my server (windows) and my library is mainly in flac. Do you guys suggest to transcode flac to wav? I don't remember where i read that somebody was transcoding everything in wav 24bit. Any benefit in doing this? - If i manage to configure minimserver to show/read the ''Dynamic Range'' tag into the files do you know if Lighting DS app will show this information or it's limited only to certain tags? Thanks
  3. I'm testing the Aries... So far I am impressed but I will give my final feedback later. Is there a way to shuffle random songs from the entire library?
  4. Yes I already have one borrowed. I mean after all the setup and installation of the beta 5...can i live with the browser GUI for the configuration and future updates? If someone could check this...
  5. Hi guys, Tomorrow I will receive the Aries with femto and linear psu. I have few questions: - After I install the last beta 5 can I avoid to buy an apple product? Can I configure the Aries from web browser and use bubbleupnp from Android? - Are these filters in beta 5 applied also for bitperfect playback? As I understand for bitperfect there is no filter applied but I would like to have confirmation. - in the case i would like the lighting ds app and I decide to buy an used iPad... How old it can be? Lighting ds will work smooth also on a first generation iPad? Thanks
  6. I have just bought an used Auralic Aries (top model) for a good price. Do you think that I made a mistake because it will be not "supported" or completely outclassed by the new models?
  7. Few questions about the Mutec 3 - Is the built in power supply good or i will have to replace it with another one? I mean...is it linear psu integrated? - Does the Mutec need an usb isolator (intona, ifi nano, etc.) or it's already ''isolated''? - I want to go into my dac using the AES/EBU connection from the Mutec. Can i still benefit from the World Clock option? - Using the Mutec...do i still need to care about linear psu for my mini-pc and external drive? - Who is the best performer between the mutec and auralic aries with femto clocks and linear psu? Anyone compared? Thanks
  8. Question> Is the gapless function working with Auralic Aries (i mean current model)? I'm trying to find a digital streamer with AES/EBU or I2S that actually supports gapless and it's not super-expensive...
  9. I have an sbooster vbus isolator that basically cuts the 5V from the usb of my mini-pc. Then from the vbus isolator i go via usb (without 5v) to my digital interface that is powered by linear psu. Do i still need one of these gadget? Thanks
  10. Yes, i noticed it as well. i hope that once installed will not ask for ''format''. I'm referring to the e-sata disc that i'm using. Once i switched to usb external disk is not asking for formatting and everything works normally.
  11. HDPlex Linear PSU. I'm actually trying Euphony and actually it seems (sounds) promising. I mean audio quality specially... @ArthurPower Is there a way to access the Music Library as shared drive? Probably samba should be ''involved''. I ask because with Daphile i was adding my files into library directly from Windows Explorer.
  12. @ArthurPower Hi, i have some questions about Euphony OS: - I have a Zotac CI320 nano with 4gb ram. Intel N2930 (quad core, 1.83 GHz, up to 2.16 GHz). I would install Euphony on the internal SSD and then my music library is attached with E-Sata external drive. Both, the Zotac and the external drive are powered by linear PSU. Is Euphony gonna work in this scenario (hardware and external e-sata drive)? - Is there any Last.fm scrobbling option? - Euphony supports ''Play from Ram'' option or you think that it's not necessary?
  13. I have more and more Hi-res albums and i'm looking forward to switch back to Daphile (Linux OS) with my Yellowtec Puc2! I really don't mind to use a separate firmware just for Linux...Hopefully we will get it soon.
  14. Sorry to ask, but Daphile (Free Linux based OS) is not doing exactly the same things? I also remember that Daphile was installed in a music server product (''computer audio transport'') as main software...
  15. That's a good news! Please keep us updated as soon they release a new firmware/kernel! Thanks a lot
