  1. Can you tell me please if the esoteric cd player supports dsd256 files natively and not DoP. If the files are playable connected to a dac that supports dsd256. Thank you in advance
  2. You have to search the error into an album artist that you loaded. You have to see if there is wrong track order inside of the album to recognize the problem. One album can create this error.
  3. I never try to change internal HDD because there is no limitation to the external. But I think the limit still remains in 2tb HDD. I never read anything different except some guy with HDD utilities and a trick it managed to use 3-4 TB drive. It can recognise bigger capacity but as formatting the hap it's only 2tb. I can post how it's going to be real.... With Seagate 4 TB 2,5" HDD. First remove old and connect temp new 4TB HDD. Then reset HAP-Z1. Sony format HDD with MBR like 2TB and you see 1,7 TB free. Second remove new 4TB HDD from Sony and connect to PC with Windows. Use internal s-ata or USB case. Then with software Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 Suite convert 4TB to GPT disc. Sony make two HDD volume. One 3GB for maser.db and second for storage (1,7TB) You must add rest of your 4TB HDD to second volume. On second volume right mouse button to Move/Resize volume and then pull right till maximum. So you make second volume from 1,7TB to 3,6TB. Free space before and after must set to 0. Then Yes button and APPLY top button. Wait ca.30 min. Your new HDD is ready. Connect to Sony again this is all. With Paragon_ExtFS_for_Windows_2.1.440 you can read and write music direct to Sony Linux HDD Ext4 on your Windows PC. After then rescan HDD in Sony.
  4. Well. I was done it once upon a time from 5tb to this 8tb and I am intending to do it from 8tb to 16tb. It's better to have already on the drive and let the hap scan instead of using the hap the network and the laptop. There is a bug to the player sometimes shuts down even if you are in the middle of transferring. With the scan way there is no interruption.
  5. Yes to this external. Because it's new. But to this there is.
  6. Well Dennis the easiest way is to transfer the files through a computer. Let the hap format the new HDD and then plug the old and new HDD both to pc and use a utility ext2fsd for Windows to help windows read the ext4 formatted hdds from hap. Use pc with usb3 for faster transfer. And then plug the new HDD to the hap again and let the player when ask you to scan the drive. This going to get some time but less time instead of transferring from pc to the player. I hope that would help you. Please forgive me i don't know anything for Mac. If something it's not understood please free to ask. My best regards from Greece.....
  7. If you ever wonder there is no limit on this player..... New hdd external 16tb and everything working like a charm.....
  8. I was experiencing the same issue. Just connect the external hard drive directly to the HAP and let hap boot up and wait. Logically no message will appear. Then shut it down and connect again the usb hub with the cd drive the hdd and the usb to dac. I think your problem will be solved. Don't forget to connect the power supply to the usb hub and to the cd drive.
  9. Right click to the left of the partition showing you unpartitioned. The spot that shows disk 0 disk 1 and goes on it depends from the hard drives you have connected, is a button.New volume etc..... Follow the wizard.
  10. Hello. You can do this from the Windows Disk Management Utility to re-format the partition as NTFS. Just launch Computer Management (Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Computer Management and choose "Disk Management" from left pane). Now, on the right pane, right-click on the partition you want tp re-format and choose Format, then choose "NTFS" from the drop down and format it. My best regards Christopher from Greece
  11. You can download from this link. My best regards. https://1drv.ms/b/s!AkQJSGEeLVwF0lZHOjNIKWINIIja

  13. Don't worry about data ability. I have 60000 of dsd and hires files into an external 8tb wd my book and there is no limitation at all. I agree it is a little bit slower than having a few thousand tracks but otherwise it works great and sounds beautifully.
