  1. I also considered minimax supreme but didnt order as it didnt have xlr output. Cost $100 more than x20u as well.
  2. Hi everyone, Thanks in advance for your inputs. My current system is: Source: NAS (FLAC) --> Intel NUC with Daphile (Spotify) Amp: Musical Fidelity M6500i integrated Speaker: Dynaudio Confidence C4 Mk II My current DAC is the ifi iDSD Micro + iTube. I am looking for a major improvement. Budget <$1500 new/2nd hand. Can't decide whether delta sigma or ladder R2R dac... Thanks again.
  3. Hello everyone, I need help with settings/troubleshoot my Daphile. I am using the latest 64bit build (non realtime kernel). Setup: - Vaio ultrabook - USB3 WD ext hdd with full install of Daphile - Music on NAS drive - USB cable to ifi iDSD Micro DAC Problem: - variable - 30mins to 3h - where the music would just STOP. Daphile shows the counter is still playing and the server UI is responsive. This happens regardless if I stream local files, Spotify, TIDAL. - turning the DAC off and on doesn't help - requires a restart from the web UI then the music plays where it left off. - I have disabled all power saving/management options - using Squeezelite module. Thanks again for your inputs and help.
  4. Thanks SolarFlight. Now you got me thinking about the TEAC UD503! Always wondered how the AKM chips compared with ESS Sabre chips. Esoteric use AKM and Accuphase use ESS. Interesting. But ESS 9018 is certainly much more widely used.
  5. Hello everyone. New member here. I also have a similar set up: laptop (Daphile) -> USB -> ifi iDSD Micro -> amp+speaker. Music is stored on a ReadyNAS on the home network. @SolarFlight do you think the MiniMax Supreme is a worthwhile upgrade? I am too considering this DAC. I like the idea of hybrid tube/SS and dual ES9018 chips but the lack of XLR and DSD256/512 does worry me. Can you explain more what's the difference between the DACs?
