  1. UPDATE: Clementine may actually do what I am looking for. Investigating...
  2. My bad. I prolly did an inadequate job explaining... ? What I liked about iTunes that I feel I'm missing: 1) iTunes was able to read the contents of my iPod and show me that in a display that makes sense to me - organized by artist, genre, etc. I'd like to be able to do that with my FiiO. iTunes "synced" the content you selected to the iPod and was able to show you what was on the device without having to look into its directories 2) I miss having Smart Playlists (this is something missing from Roon) and then be able to "sync" those to the iPod. Ideally the software I am looking for would build playlists into cue sheets readable by the FiiO. In short - benefit of iTunes was that it presented what was on your iPod by looking at the tags, not the directories the files were in. Yeah but that's a pain in the arse because there's two SD cards in the FiiO so I have to check both individually before copying my music over. Like I said above - I want to manage what's on the FiiO by metadata, not files in directories. (Maybe I could've just said that all along!) ?
  3. Ever since abandoning the Apple iTunes/iPod world for a FiiO X5 and Roon life has been a heckuva lot better. I use a MacMini as a media server with Plex and Roon. The only hole is this nirvana is managing the files that I'd like to copy to my FiiO when I travel. In short... is there a Mac OS app that will catalog my music directories or (even better) read my Roon database and allow me to do iTunes-ish things when copying music to my FiiO? How do I come close to the iPod/iTunes experience with Roon (or a directory of FLAC, WAV, DSF files) and my FiiO? Thanks, Adam
  4. I hav one or two SACDs that I’d like to have ripped. Does anyone here offer this as a service? thx!
  5. Yeah, duh. That was stupid of me. There was a post earlier here that there was already another Mac SACD ripping option. I think you confirmed for me in another thread that this is not the case. Never mind! a
  6. Yay. is it illegal for me to ask someone to do the backups for me? a
  7. (Please forgive the newbie-ness as I haven't the stamina to read the entire thread here) so so am I to understand that the only way to backup my SACDs is to use a PS3 and the various hacks and groks listed here and in referenced materials? Is there really no other way using standard PC or Mac hardware? thanks!
  8. DVDAE doesn't come with its own...? If not, where do I find one? I've never had to install one using XLD, etc. A
  9. Bumping an old thread here... I found dvdae for the Mac to be quite terrible. No way to organize files into a folder and the tagging/file naming isn't working for me. Also, this may be a noob oversight on my part but even f I select "flac" the output files are Ogg Vorbis. Aam I clueless and missing something or are there any other alternatives that I'm missing? Thanks!
  10. Thanks! Going to check it out.
  11. Looking for software that can produce various graphical analyses like those posted here and on other forums. The type that posters use to show freq analysis, dr. Any recommendations are appreciated. MacOS only please! Thanks!
