  1. It's free and pretty straight forward once you've registered
  2. Yes, you can install it from the App Store
  3. About A$150 pm of which about 25% is downloads and the rest CD
  4. Understand and agree what you're saying albeit somewhat reluctantly. Thanks for the link.
  5. Think you hit the nail on the head Distinctive. At the risk of going off topic, any recommendation on good sources of the basics?
  6. Thanks to the kind folk here I have progressed beyond the 'invalid address' msg when trying to connect DSL server to 214play NAS to the 'no SMB shared folder' msg. I've implemented the suggested settings on my NAS. Will wait for the next fix alluded to by Auralic. New DSL app super fast (on minimserver). I know patience is likely to reward but find my mind wondering off to one box solutions every now and again.. You guys/girls keep me inspired though. Cheers!
  7. Previously posted with the exact same problem. Also minimserver, no issue. Noticed that JRiver running on my laptop for the first time lost connection to my DS214play, as yet unable to re-establish link. Raised ticket with Synology but may be barking up the wrong tree due to minimserver working ok! Will see what response I get from that side.
  8. Appreciate the responses. It's really encouraging.. Quick reply; My username consists one word I temporarily disabled the firewall No fixed IP address for the Aries Away from home for a few days when-after I will launch into it again..
  9. Afraid not getting it to connect. Any other tips? A relative novice with this. Mine is a Synology DS 214play for what it's worth. Thanks
  10. +1, running iOS 8.2 and delaying going to 8.4 due to DSL compatibility issue. I have reverted to minimserver. Planning to raise query if problem persists after updated DSL
